Anyone who loves European fruit brandy will do a double-take here: several tasters swear it could pass blind for Kirsch or Mirabellenbrand. It's a pot-still cane-juice white from Ghana, packed with sour cherry, mirabelle plum and a marzipan note, with a fresh grassy edge. Despite 50%, most find it surprisingly mild. One member calls it "dangerously tasty in a daiquiri."

Note: Employment at Perola GmbH (spirits industry), partial professional involvement with evaluated bottlings. All reviews are my personal, unpaid opinion. Extremely awesome overproof Ghana. Benchmark for me even... Could pass blind as cherry or mirabelle brandy for me. Nice marzipan/maraschino note and extremely mild! And dangerously delicious in a Daiquiri.

Wow, this is a very well rounded white. Easy to drink and probably super good in a mixer. Very fruity and especially the cherry is easy to pick up. Love the marzipan in the profile.

Small CDI tasting - extension: I definitely have to agree with the others - very fruity on the nose and from the palate you think you have a cherry or mirabelle brandy in the glass. The sugarcane reminds you that it is indeed rum.

Nose: cherry. Palate: bitter cherry and glue, you can tell it's 40%-50% (very good), remains very light. Finish: cherry. Empty glass: cherry and glue. Conclusion: it's good but not my thing. Nice to discover.

An unusual nose. Marzipan, plums and sour cherries mixed with freshly cut grass. Sharp in places. The palate keeps things interesting. The sour cherries from the nose has now been joined by notes of sugarcane juice, cream and a subtle smokiness. The finish is short. Minty. The cherries are subtly still hanging around. Overall a different and interesting rum. Not something that's blow me away but I'm glad I tried this.

The nose is super intense mirabelle, sour cherry, generally lots of fruit, a bit of alcohol noticeable. The first sip despite 50% is not so strong or burning. The mirabelle note is very dominant, cherry and glue close behind. If you like fruit brandy you'll have to try this rum.

On the nose some fermented melon and papaya with sour notes, some ester and a little garlic, but also sweet hints of red fruits and aquavit. On the soft and enveloping palate, unlike the nose it has no sour notes but sweet notes of black cherry and maraschino cherries, only in the finish some mild pepper and little ester. On the nose yellow stone fruit brandy with hints of rowanberry (-> marzipan). Also fresh, grassy, citrusy. On the palate like a best of Austrian fruit brandies. Mirabelle, rowanberry, some sweetness and citrus. On one hand the most accessible of the three, on the other hand also the brandiest and warmest in alcohol.

"Great discovery! We're coming back to refine it, I love it! Fat, very fruity, atypical... top! I would call it wild, intense. It betrays the origin and that's a good thing. Also good as a sipper, in a daiquiri really intriguing nutmeg notes emerge.

Drank neat, it brings out aromas of mirabelle plums and plums, reminiscent of eaux de vie from eastern France. Delicious with lemon sorbet. Shaken as a Daiquiri, aeration will reveal the aromas of pure sugarcane juice with great freshness. An excellent product. I can't wait to see the results of the liters aged in the Compagnie des Indes cellars.

Pretty intense smell. Good! Very fruity cherry/almond schnapps. A lot better than the Vietnam I just tasted. All the plums. Nicely balanced. I'm getting into this Ghana stuff.
