Very heavy, thick, complex, concentrated and oily enmore. Lots of licorice, dark almost burnt caramel, some incense, dried fig, lavender, sea salt and cocoa. Alcohol well integrated, not too much barrel influence. Beautiful thing. Only thing is, I'm still warming up to these intense licorice notes of this enmore style, unfortunately. The more you get into it and let it breathe the more dried fig, lavender and sweet mocha combine together on the finish. Beautiful part!

An Enmore from a surprisingly unexplored vintage, despite its incredible qualities. The nose is very warm, bursting with spices of all kinds (pepper, licorice, vanilla) that combine well with the dark, sweet oakiness typical of Enmore of yesteryear. Empyreumatic notes (smoke, roast, tobacco) are counterbalanced by prunes, raisins, tea and aromatic herbs. A homogeneous, intense and elegant nose. On the palate, a gripping, complex and aromatic rum is revealed. Empyreumatic flavors lend a dark, powerful edge to the palate. This sensation is reinforced by wood, leather and dried fruit, giving a warmer, more tannic feel on the palate. However, floral, tea and herbal scents provide a welcome breath of freshness that balances everything out. The alcohol is well integrated. The interminable finish is bitter, heavy and rich, with notes of dried fruit, tobacco, wood, spice and empyreum. A final, rather greedy but dry sensation that signals the end of the final bouquet. An exceptional Enmore, very well selected by the bottler.

Powerful and heavy aromas rise from the glass! After a while, however, delicate components such as fruit and esters join in. The alcohol does not interfere a bit. This is already off to an excellent start! On the palate, the impressions of the nose are mirrored almost one-to-one and the emphasis shifts towards wood, licorice and dark chocolate. It becomes bitter but not too bitter. The flavors stick to the palate for a very long time. With more fruitiness, this would be a near perfect rum for me. Unfortunately, these old Enmores are not cheap.

Rum Sponge - RumX-live-Tasting, the third of the evening and for me a highlight, as I had expected. Old and real cask strength. Nose: incredibly dense and intense aromas. Very full-bodied and delicate. Very dark-roasted and yet fruity. Dried plum, dried apricot and dried bitter orange. There is also plenty of liquorice, baking spice and leather as well as old furniture polish. A nose to sniff forever. 9.2 Palate: yes, wonderful! Full-bodied, intense and yet balanced. Woody, roasted and spicy, but not too much of everything. A good shot of wood acidity at the beginning, followed by liquorice, fat pecan, umami, perhaps also tonka bean. Lots of sour-tart treacle. But also dried plum and dried blood orange. Great aroma 9.2

A rum tasted online with Angus MacRaild. Strong color. Angus seemed proud of his choice for this Enmore, a distillery (mark) he considers the most interesting in Guyana. The nose is dark and deep, with sandalwood, licorice and fresh tobacco. The palate is a continuation of the nose, with more vigor. Still sandalwood and licorice, but also dried fruit (prunes). The finish is long, with the same sandalwood, woodiness and freshness. I never tire of smelling the empty glass, which tells a medieval story of a castle smelling of smoke, with the door to the herbalist's shop wide open. My favorite of the evening.

Tasted at the April Lottery RumX tasting with Angus from Rum Sponge, number 3: I was looking forward to this one the most, Enmore 1992 is an exclamation point on the label for now! And wow, this rum does not disappoint! Fruity-sweet, with lots of dark notes, proper wood and lots of depth. Unlike many other 92s Enmores but not too woody or bitter, but wonderfully balanced. This one is really fun, I'd love to have more of it! So far, clearly the highlight and I suspect the following will not come close to this rum!

Putting it simply, just lovely old Guyana rum. This enmore is so dark, rich and complex with a slightly restrained but delightful nose. It's tastes marvellous, old leather, tobacco, wood (but not too much), then sweeter notes of caramel, dark chocolates and some fruits. A finish that goes on forever. A must try for lovers of old Demerara. I really hope that later vintages come out like this as they approach 30 years of age so we can keep tasting this!

Wow, this is a very good Guyana. Extremely well balanced not only in the ABV but also the wood. Usually this old rums are dominated by the wood, but not this one. Fruity with some really nice spices and caramel. The finish is extremely long and nice. I had to drink water 3 times before I was ready for the next sample! Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is equally wonderful and I can pick up some chocolate and faint leather.

A very dark, floral and smoky Enmore, with a good load of earth and leather. Unfortunately, there's not much fruit. Very briefly even some bacon on the nose, which rather repels me than turns me on. Dark, lots of leather, spicy and earthy in the mouth. Fortunately, a little more fruit with a heavy sweetness on the finish. Overall, unfortunately not my favourite aromas, but I recognize that this is a complex and high-quality rum.

Wow! Enmore at its finest: licorice, leather, plum, wood...positive surprise! For me, in the absolute top group of 1992 Enmores, because here, despite the many heavy flavors, an almost filigree profile is created, which comes along a little less heavy than the other releases, but exactly by this "lightness" in a positive sense independence. Downright noble - or simply excellent.

... Enmore - drive distiller, now just a functional distillation device. Apparently the only wooden still in the world which is very popular. The Enmore rums have a flavour of ash, leather, heavy wood, which will delight especially the lovers of whiskey. And if in the traditional Guyanese way the producer adds a little molasses to the rum, you have a unique very distinctive and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favourites.

Diamantový adventní Kalendář RFC 2024. Název decadent drink a grafika rum sponge jsou pro mě oboje velmi osvěžující věci, které vlastně nenabízejí velké očekávání, pokud nevíte o co jde. Ale opak je pravdou, a i v tomto případě dostávám neuvěřitelnej vzorek enmore 92. Dřevo koření, totálně vyváženej rum. Velká paráda!

Beautiful, elegant Enmore with a nice intensity and complexity. Overall, however, not my preferred profile, as I find the fruitiness somewhat lacking and I always have slight associations with Maggi or soy sauce. However, it is certainly a highlight for lovers of this type of rum.

An excellent Enmore, less heavy and strong, but with all the markers that make an Enmore! Beautiful, dark and heavy. Lots of spice, dried fruit, dark chocolate and a wonderfully long finish, and it all harmonizes in a very balanced ratio!

Highlight for today! Great Enmore that deserves more time to enjoy. Full bodied, heavy with a complex profile of bread, licorice, wood, medicinal, chocolate. All well integrated with a long finish that shows more flavors over time. Top notch!

Wow what a great enmore. The best I've had so far. Clean licorice with beautiful intense and long-lasting roasted aromas. The alcohol strength is absolutely perfect and the rum is wonderfully harmonious. Definitely try it
