A fruity nose. The port finish is very present. Lots of red fruits, oak and a touch of smoky molasses. The palate has the red fruit from the nose mixed with dark chocolate and a yeasty after taste, which is different. The finish is quite short. The yeasty notes from the palate is joined by a touch of honey. It's got some janky notes and it's a bit too sweet but it's not terrible.

My least favorite Barcelo so far. The port influence is too heavy. It's still drinkable but also becomes hard to call it rum.

Too soft and too flat

No, this one really doesn't suit my taste, the port wine is way too noticeable here. Otherwise, a slight sweetness, but barely detectable. On the nose caramel and vanilla, on the palate honey, vanilla and dark chocolate.

At first smell cherries, it's awful. Later it's not so terrible, in the background you can very slightly feel the port cask. After drinking, an absolutely fabulous taste, strong and full, lots of port influence, even a bit chocolatey.

Again a distinctly sweeter rum, but that taste of port - like a dessert. I even have a bit of a feeling that I'm drinking port and not rum. The finish is distinct, besides port also honey-like. I would appreciate less sweetness and higher proof.

Red color that reveals a good sip of port wine was forgotten in the barrel. You can taste it well, but without the port coming too much to the forefront.

Brachially sweet! Cookie dough, sugar, overproof port wine. A really nasty mix! It rarely happens to me, but I really have to leave it, otherwise my pancreas will give up.

Read full review ›As a fan of rums aged in port wine casks, I'm glad such a bottle was created and that more will be made in the same edition. I think it will suit fans of the Barceló brand and thus all fans of sweeter rums. Ideal for cigars or for friends who aren't rum drinkers.
