Rum Shark Chamarel 2013
A neat, slow-sipping pour that wants time in the glass to settle. It's a cane-juice rum with a grassy, agricole edge — one taster called it "very agricole, almost whiskey like rum." Expect light wood, pear and plum, herbal menthol, clove and cinnamon, and a distinct nail-polish note running through nose and palate. At 56.5% it stays warm but round.

This rum is like a candy - it smells like mead but with a hint of varnished wood..the flavor is complex..from sweet honey on the nose to overripe fruit to a bit more technical varnish and spices like cloves and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long...it's the kind of rum to sip every evening when you're craving something sweeter (like Christmas) but not too sweet...just like a candy bar.

A slightly spicy nose, with a hint of nail polish :) On the palate, a little acidity that stings the nose, warm, spicy notes with a hint of lemon or citrus fruit and a slight bitterness.
