The nose opens with juicy pastries. Nice PM sweetness on the palate again. And again dry and salty on the finish. The rum spans a diverse range of flavors and therefore makes it into the 80+ region for me. Overall, a good example to get to know the PM profile.

Not mine at all. Citrus drain cleaner with a pungent neutral alcohol base. Everyone else who tasted the rum thought it was at least ok. Not me. Sorry. But I'm always skeptical about Virgin Cask, it can quickly go wrong.

Wow, what 2 years of young oak has brought in here is exciting! Still a little wild on the palate - but definitely fun! Nice sweetness, herbs and some roastiness from the barrel. Slight salty note on the finish. An exciting experiment.

After tasting it for the third time, I have to correct my rating. I like it. The Virgin Oak gave off nice wood notes. In principle, of course, a PM can stand a long storage. This one could also stand a longer aging. But for the scarce two years he can already something!

Colour of the SBS is significantly lighter vs. The Nectar. On the nose both clearly deliver (unaged) PM notes. However the cask influence on The Nectar is much more noticeable as the colour suggested. Clear point for The Nectar. On the palate, this SBS is significantly sweeter and more „virgin oak forward“ so to say. Alcohol is better integrated vs. The Nectar. While there are also (oaky) sweet notes and vanilla, The Nectar delivers a much darker profile which is more noticeable PM. Overall a hint to sharp for my liking.

Surprisingly mild taste for 2y young and the high alcohol content! Nice combo of herbs, baking spices, ripe apple and young wood and milk chocolate, and some sea salt and nutmeg. Impressive for such a short time in the barrel.

First off this is a very young PM and it rocks considering the age and price tag. Sweet and spicy at the same time well mixed with some fruits and caramel. The palate is warm/intense in a good way and I wonder would have happened to it if 18 years had been added to it 😊

Nutty, young wood, herbs and caramel on the nose. On the palate nutmeg, peppery-spicy, young wood, dark chocolate. Interesting experiment, but not quite my thing.

Alcohol as expected after 2 years there. But it is fantastic how much flavor this rum has already drawn from the Virgin Oak barrel in such a short time. Great rum for outstanding tiki drinks with power.

Quite closed on the nose. Nougat, fresh wood, sweet chocolate and a herbal note stand out the most. Quite alcoholic on the palate. Woody, pepper and herbs are in the foreground. Unfortunately a bad example of maturation in Virgin Oak.

Considering the short aging time, the alcohol is very unsettled. Intense notes of virgin oak are reflected in both aroma and taste. The taste has sweet tones mixed with pepperiness. So far, it’s quite nice. The finish is alcoholic and even unpleasantly burning.

On the nose, this PM is clearly more restrained than the Nectar! The palate, on the other hand, is very intense...the barrel is already amazingly clear to taste...but on a pleasant side...not too bitter or tannin-heavy. Initially, a nice sweetness spreads before the barrel influence comes to light. The alcohol is already very well integrated!The finish is clearly on the woody, herbaceous side!I like the Nectar better than the S.B.S though.

Nice mixer, but the virgin oak could have tried a bit harder - you can notice some sweetness but usually you taste it more intensely if the oak was still virgin. For drinking neat it's still a bit too boring for me. But you can tell it definitely had potential if it had been left to mature a bit longer. There is already this Guyana licorice caramel note, but it's still really weak and then herbal notes come in the finish. My problem with this rum is that it's like a caterpillar that wasn't allowed to become a butterfly after it had already pupated.

Very Port Mourant in the nose. Classic aniseed. Some floral notes. Lots of alcohol in the taste at first. Needs some time. Peppery. Only 2 years. Some punch. Virgin oak is noticable. Very noticable. A feisty fiery dram. Not too bad. This could be really good after a few years and some angel share. It's more of a one trick pony now.

The new barrel hits here full and you really have to take small sips otherwise you are fully landed in the wood department. for me it is a bit too coining here, but Virgin oak is definitely interesting I look forward to the high ester experiments of S.B.S.😊

The alcohol is omnipresent but not disturbing. It's amazing how much the cask has already done in 2 years. I really like it. On the nose still quite herbal, nutty and this fine nougat sweetness, on the palate the cask hits well, lots of young wood, roasted aromas, surprisingly sweet and these fine chocolate notes that I like so much. It moves away woody with a pinch of salt.

Trade fair tasting, therefore shorter: Stunning what goes down here for just two years and 66%. The nose is very complex to chaotic, but in the best sense. Chocolate and apple. Very warm in the mouth, but not unpleasantly alcoholic, more in the direction of ginger. Young wood, nutmeg, a hint of mocha and lots of herbs. Madness what has happened here in just 2 years.
