Most tasters land in the low-to-mid 7s and call it decent-but-quiet: you get pineapple, banana and coconut with a little ester, but several say it feels thin next to the big 60%+ New Yarmouths. You can somehow tell that the rundown Jamaicans have lost a lot of their profile. Sure, we still have tropical fruits (pineapple, banana, and coconut) and a bit of ester, but no comparison to the rums with over 60%.

There's a vague hint of fruit on the nose, perhaps some technically disguised strawberry. In the mouth, it tickles the tongue, and leaves a long memory in which I know I've been drinking Jamaica, but at the same time I feel like someone has squeezed it out. It's not intense enough for me, and it's weak. On the other hand, for the price, it's more than adequate.
