Once again an example of one of my favorite vintages from Trinidad: Super cool elegant TDL! Hammer. Rarely experienced such an intense lychee, caramel and mint note. In addition, this super heavy, oily, thick texture is reminiscent of Earl Grey tea as a syrup in combination with a delicious pastry. Extremely well-integrated alcohol without appearing diluted, aromatically extremely full-bodied, heavy, elegant and delicious. Grandiose bottling!

Have had high expectations and they were met 🤩Mega Delicious 🤤Much Litchi just how I love it 🤩

The farmer's palate says:Rather unobtrusive on the nose, not as dirty-strong on the palate as the 2001 Nobilis (RX13862) and not as minty as the 2003 CDI (RX944), rather finely balanced, very pleasant to drink. So for a 2000 TDL really succeeded.

A super delicious T.D.L. with a really cool litchi note! Which is always present, from the first nose to the finish🤤 YummY Not soo minty and dirty as TDL’s from 2001-2003. The alcohol is integrated very well, as well as the barrel.

Retasting from today after getting a bottle and after having opportunity to compare to other TDLs from around that period (01-03). This one is very delicate. Has the flowery notes like 03 i tried, some herbs and menthol from 01. A bit of tropical fruit, light, some coffee and smoke. More caramel and vanilla. Quite enjoyable, however have to be fair to the other two and bring down the score a bit. Perhaps the original tasting which was lead by a 30yo KFM somehow had a positive influence on the original tasting. Original From a tasting session with Benjamin. This is so good. A mix of buttery notes, caramel, loads of tropical fruits and coffee.

This was a very nice surprise. Once rested it really cane to life with nice freshness and fruits mixed with some spices, wood and a minty touch. ABV is really well integrated and it draws nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has really nice flavours after about an hour.

A subtle, delicate T.D.L. The nose is elegant, initially sweet with caramel and brown sugar, then slightly alcoholic, before allowing red and tropical fruits to express themselves. Spices, milk chocolate and mocha return to the gourmet framework before giving way to menthol notes. A pleasant profile, especially after aeration. On the palate, the rum is extremely smooth: the 57% is not perceptible. Minty notes are matched by exotic fruits (lychee, apricot, pineapple, mango, papaya, redcurrant). Crème brûlée, caramel and toffee strut alongside spices and a woody, chocolatey edge. A classic profile for the distillery, incredibly sweet and delicious on the palate. The finish returns to freshness and menthol, followed by dried and exotic fruits. Too bad it's a bit short. Spices, caramel, salt and roasted wood add the finishing touch. A good T.D.L. in itself, very easy to drink, but lacking the cachet to be in the top tier.

Very similar to the typical 2001-2003 TDLs. However, this one is more delicate, not so brute, more discreet.

Not as exuberant as most of the TDL 2000's released recently. More like the official bottlings, especially on the nose. The fruitiness (tropical, blackcurrant/litchees) is there after a classic attack but very delicate, subtle, as if muted. A very elegant selection!

Somehow a beautiful drop without The nose is caressed by tropical fruit, on the palate very soft and balanced with a nice lychee note. A pleasing, very good rum, slightly sweet on the finish, which also fits in well. A well-rounded affair. The dirty profile of some Trinidad TDLs is not entirely absent, but only appears to some extent after some time in the glass.

Elegant nose with sweetness and caramel notes (crème brûlée) and an interesting mix of fruits. In contrast to other 2000s TDLs I do not get minty notes in particular in this bottling. Mint comes to play on the palate. However, we are not looking at fresh mint both rather menthol in a wired combination with fruity notes (wildberries) which reminds me of candy. Also woodies, caramel and chocolate. Pretty nice.

Either the samples were mixed up (by mistake) or it tastes almost exactly like the Plantation Venezuela 2010/2012. Other opinions on this? Except that the Plantation one is about 1/3 the price of this one. Nose: Very weak mint, almost non-existent. Not the "sought-after" profile. Present is bourbon, burnt caramel (obviously re-casked or similar) yellow fruits, pear, vanilla and kiwi. Typical Spanish fruit nose. Palate: Yellow fruits, bourbon whiskey, Spanish. Finish rather short. Not a bad rum, but clearly the Spanish profile without the mint (was I trolled?) and I could swear it's a first-degree relative of Plantation Venezuela 2010/2022. I'm curious to see what others think.
