Great bottling in solid quality. Tropical fruits like banana, mango, and orange paired with nice wood/cask influence, rather on the sweet side. For a better rating, I miss some complexity.

On the nose the bottling shows a nice combination of fruity notes and wood. Quite balanced and enjoyable. Compared to other releases with (predominant tropical aging), this one is way less funky/ester heavy on the nose than I expected for a VRW. The „Orange Wine“ is detectable on the nose but imo in no way overwhelming. Similar on the palate: very well balanced with fruits and wood. Again not very funky. The Orange notes are showing up on the finish a bit more but are otherwise well integrated into the mix.

8,6:On the nose, esters, varnish, rubber, fermented tropical fruits like banana, pineapple, mango, citrus fruits with orange, orange peel, roasted wood notes like pastry, spicy with allspice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, molasses is vegetal with briny olive, grassy, flowery, dairy hints and metallic patina join, the wood is toasted with nuts, vanilla, caramelized, slightly smoky. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, varnish, rubber, a bit dirty, fruity with fermented tropical fruits and banana, pineapple, mango, citrus like orange, molasses is sweet with honey, herbaceous, vegetal with briny olive, floral, as the wood is roasted with caramel, pastry, roasted nuts, spicy with allspice, vanilla, meaty. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, slightly dirty, medicinal, coppery, molasses is sweet with honeycomb, fruits are tropical, citrus and oak toasted with chocolate, nuts, caramelized, leather, spicy.

Dem hier fehlt irgendwie ein wenig die Power, ansonsten ein solider Jamaikaner. Wieder tropische Früchte, natürlich Banane und Ananas, aber auch wieder viel Ester. Ansonsten schmeckt er nochbsehr vergoren, verrottet und medizinisch.

Nice bottling with reliable quality. Ripe, tropical fruit notes – banana, mango, and a hint of orange – meet a pleasant cask spiciness. Generally a bit sweeter in profile. For more points, I miss a bit of depth and complexity, but overall a pleasant rum for relaxed evenings.

I really like the VRW Mark, but this one doesn't quite convince me. Especially the sweetness that builds up seems a bit strange to me. Also too much orange at the back. Good, but there are much better ones.
