One taster nailed it: "nice agricol with a fruity/floral profile and well integrated alcohol." That's the heart of this unaged Papa Rouyo — brine and salty olives up front, then grass, lime and a touch of tropical fruit and nougat. At 62% the alcohol reads much softer than the number suggests. A few find it too savory and short on fruit, but most love the oily, funky character.

#4074 This is a pretty nice white especially when looking at the price tag. Fruity with nice floral notes and a lightly dry palate. I like the light nutty note that is also there in the empty glass.

An Agricole as it stands in the book. Really nice nose, which comes across as very fruity. Citrus fruits are particularly noteworthy here. Also very fruity on the palate, also vegetal and floral. Alcohol really well integrated.

While the fruity and herbal/vegetable notes are still balanced on the nose, it becomes increasingly herbal and spicy as it progresses. The fruit aromas lose more and more importance and are only present with a hint of pineapple in the aftertaste after swallowing. A good, unaged Agricole that I would like even better with a more consistent fruitiness.

Alcohol well integrated, nice nose but taste me much too salty, vegetable and bitter and herbaceous.... Unfortunately, hardly any fruit notes ... Tasty for it in the daiquiri But why that must now cost 80€ I do not understand?

I liked it a lot. As soon as you pour it into the glass, an explosion of olive and brine aroma, unripe banana, and a slight citrus note. The alcoholic note is surprisingly pleasant. As minutes pass, a hint of tropical fruit is added. On the palate, the alcohol is felt, warming but not aggressive. The olives in brine and unripe banana return but everything is spicier, almost pungent. Medium finish. Tasted in sample. P.S.: It should be produced entirely with the single variety of red cane.

It makes a killer daiquiri. The nose is great, tropical, inviting and something different. Combination of grass, pineapple and nougat. The mouth is intense and you really know you are drinking a full proof unaged agricole then. Arrack, subtle brine and green element. Finish is salty and fruity with tropical notes and some pineapple. A great unaged white rum but best in cocktails and mixed for my taste rather than straight up. Side note - One of the best daiquiri white rums I have found!

Nose, pastry, half-cooked, bitter almond. Alcohol well present on the nose, quite aggressive. There are spices too but I struggle to say which ones. After reading the reviews, the olive note stands out quite a bit. On the palate, you find the same aromas, with a bit of vegetal/floral that I didn't really have on the nose. Nice intensity, alcohol well present but super well integrated whereas it worried me on the nose, not bothersome on the palate. Nice finish, medium length, leaning on bitter almond with a touch of vegetal.

On the nose it is explosive with ripe tropical fruit, olives, lychee, sweet seaweed, citrus and something like nougat. On the palate it is soft and warm with hints of brine, esters, umami, seaweed, smoked herrings, citrus, ripe papaya. A slight sweetness underlies everything. And the finish is quite persistent (medium-long). Absurd ABV seems to be 20 degrees less. In the empty glass esters/umami.

This was the last Guadeloupe agricole distillery I had to tick off - thanks to BBB for my Christmas present! It's just fantastic - loads of funk, flowers, fruit and salty olives.
