04.03.2017 Whiskymessen by whisky.dk with a few friends and also trying some whisky samples. Notes. I don't know how they pack so much power into 40% was my only note on this one 😊

Very balanced rum with a noticeable touch of wood influence, but it doesn't suggest the almost biblical age for a tropical-aged rum. The spices offer a delicate counterpart, along with some heavy fruits. Pleasantly easy to drink.

The nose is absolutely fascinating and complex with notes of red fruits, wood/barrel, chaffinch, smoke/roasted and at the end some spice, wow to smell for hours! On the palate despite the 40 degrees is warm and deep, in the foreground remain the red fruits(plum/rape/others) along with the floral with predominance of fringipane, the woody aspect is delicate and in the background, in the soft finish also some roasted and licorice notes emerge. A refined gem that in some ways is more reminiscent of the 75/76 Depaz than the more recent Flibuste. In the empty glass roasted and a little fermented. Thank you Florent for the opportunity🙏

Wonderful old Agricole, with dark berries, lots of wood and spices as well as a perfumed note. Deep and complex, but here too a few more watts would have lifted the rum to a significantly higher level. Thanks to Florent for the opportunity to experience this liquid history lesson.

Also a rather young old rhum. He could have tolerated a longer storage. But you notice despite the 40% already his potential!
