Most tasters land in the same place: a good, fruity Beenleigh that just isn't the top of the 2007 pack. Expect orchard fruit — pear and green apple — with vanilla, molasses, baking spice and a petrol edge. Several note the cask leans slightly bitter and the finish runs short. Give it real time in the glass; a few found it opened up dramatically after resting.

Rum Friendly Club Advent calendar, day 10 and Australia 2025 advent calendar. A fruity nose, yellow fruits, pear and green apple and a bit of pineapple, with vanilla and molasses, a light cedar-type woodiness and a well-present alcohol. The palate is balanced, fruity, pear and green apple. Despite a well-present (but not overwhelming) alcohol, this rum offers a lot of freshness and very pleasant floral notes. Also a pastry side and a very discreet wood. The finish is a bit short, but cedar wood aromas and the pastry side remain long in the mouth. A very beautiful rum, balanced, with lots of fruit.

Today’s test included four Beenleigh releases from 2007. All in all, four surprisingly good releases which I did not expect. My personal ranking would be No.1 Silver Seal, No.2 Bottleshop, No.3 The Duchess, and a somewhat distant No.4 the Nobilis release.

31.01.2026 Retasting at the Warehouse Tasting at Nobilis. ------------ This one need stor rest for a bit before the flavours are set free for you to enjoy. Overall very good balance between the ABV, whish is well integrated, and the fruits and roasted wood notes. I really like the noget that comes out after resting as well as in the empty glass. Draws really nice curtains in the glass.

Australia Artur Advent Calendar 2025 (11) A hefty caliber and probably the strongest so far from this calendar. In every respect. A bit biting, can take a lot of time in the glass, but definitely rewards patience. Delicious fruity stuff! 64% 13 years Bourbon cask Blackadder bottling?

Crosstasting 2007 Beenleigh with RX10370 Duchess RX16467 Silver Seal RX14046 Nobilis RX24349 Bottleshop At first, all are quite closed on the nose. They need time in the glass. The Duchess and Nobilis develop a nice fruity pear/peach note. The Bottleshop later joins with the same but more restrained note. The Silver Seal remains quite closed until the end. On the palate, the Duchess continues this play of aromas, paired with some wood and spice. Very good. The Silver Seal is clearly stronger and spicier here. At first, the fruit is also clearly recognizable here. The Nobilis is the fruitiest here. It strongly resembles the Duchess. What all three share, however, is the quite well integrated alcohol. The Bottleshop is fruity at first, but then the alcohol bites quite strongly. It only allows very small sips. Wood and spice are also very present. On the finish, the Duchess and Nobilis are relatively short. The Silver Seal is more pronounced and leans more to the woody spicy side. Same with the Bottleshop. For me, the Duchess/Nobilis are slightly ahead, closely followed by the Silver Seal. The Bottleshop unfortunately falls short due to poorly integrated alcohol.

Artur's Australia Advent Calendar 2025 door 11. Again Beenleigh. Dried fruits on the nose, also some vanilla and pepper. On the palate also dried fruits, vanilla and pepper, plus some wood. Good rum.

Artur's Advent Calendar Australia: intense wood and spice aromas from nose to finish, plus caramel on the nose and burnt sugar on the palate. The alcohol is clearly noticeable, so I think it has a high ABV

Absolutely solid representative of the 2007 Beenleigh vintage. Slightly sweet, fruity. Kiwi, apple, pear, honey and ginger and some petrol, as well as nougat and cinnamon on the finish. Only the alcohol could be better integrated and the petrol taste less dominant in the finish ...

Initially I did not have a satisfying experience with this rum. Despite certain hype, the nose displayed a thin, subdued and overly mineralic profile much to my dislike. EDIT: I got a chance to try a second sample of this bottling, this time poured directly from the bottle. A completely different aroma. A thick, oily amalgam of apple, herbs and mint. Really makes me wonder what went wrong with the first sample and warrenting a justificating update. In the mouth classic Beenleigh notes with apples, wood, mixed sugars and spice. Lots of spice. Starts with anise, malt and sweet vanilla before quickly redeveloping in a chili heat with a ginger and juniper zing. The entirety is slightly dirty with a lovely petrolated base. Ends abruptly with similar notes, such as apple, molasses, spice and petrol; but foremost, especially dry.

Dunderhuts Advent Calendar Australia On the nose again stronger, fruits but above all medicinal/alcoholic. On the mouth sweetness then strong with a strong long finish, chocolate, coffee I personally like it very much!

2007 side-by-side with Duchess, SS, Nobilis and BottleShop. On the nose the BS is my favorite with more roundness and a creamy feel. The other three are quite similar with the SS a bit more on the harsh side. On the palate I do enjoy all four contenders pretty much, eventhough Bennleigh isn’t my favorite distillery tbh. Today the SS takes the crown closely followed by BS. Duchess comes with most fruits while the Nobilis shows the most influence (bitterness) from the cask.

Beenleigh - Tasting with four different bottlings, 3 times from 2007, the Compagnie des Indes from 2013. All very good, excellently mineral and earthy with light notes of vanilla and creamy influences. The representative from Nobilis impresses above all with an excellent pear note, incredibly delicious. The cask and other bitter influences hold back elegantly, the 67.2% ABV makes music and the overall package is really good - mineral, grassy, fruity - not sweet but open right from the start.

31-01-2026 - Rate 8.4 Nobilis Warehouse Tasting #4 We are back at Nobilis to another warehouse tasting. It’s the second time I taste this very fine Beenleigh bottle. Nose of dried fruits, pear, oak and a hint of nuts. Palate of dried fruits, pears, pepper and wood. Long finish dominated by wood, pear and petrol.

Australia Advent calendar from Artur: On the nose still rather sweetly pronounced, on the palate then clearly much more complex. Lots of fresh fruit, spices, chocolate, molasses, wood. Great complexity with well-integrated alcohol. Convincing cask choice, very good Australian.

Fresh Beenleigh scent at first bite. A fruity mix of vanilla pudding with pear and a hint of cinnamon on top and some medicine. It wouldn't be out of place to have a longer aging time or even just 60%.

For me one of the best Beenleight I have tasted so far. There's not quite the typical taste, but the spiced pear flavour is disarming. I'm going to need a bottle of this. I'm really impressed with the fullness and the long warming finish with great integrated alcohol.
