Poured neat it's sweet and a little hot at the same time — vanilla and banana on the nose, with tobacco and a whiff of something that turns solvent-like partway through. In the glass it's round but goes flat fast, and a few tasters caught an "artificial tasting, bitter aftertaste." Most people who liked it reached for a mixer instead.

Sweet, soft Mexican sipper, better mixed Opinions swing hard here, from mid-6s down to 2s. The theme: pleasant vanilla-banana sweetness that reads more soft and rounded than like real rum, and best in a mix.

Incredibly sweet and on top of it alcoholic. It would do very well within a mixer but would recommend not to add anything that is sweet. It is pleasant but would very much opt to include it in mixers instead of straight. Do not recommend it to ppl who are not used to alcohol.

It’s really nothing wrong with it, but it doesn’t appeal to me. By the way Pixan is Mayan and means “Spirit which gives life”. The nose is herbal and round with aromas of fruit and vanilla. At the palate the aroma comes back as flavors together with significant sweetness.

Advent calendar tasting. This rum had pleased us with my son. Very well balanced and smooth! Then on July 8, 2023 with Baptiste who doesn't like it at all! Indeed very round and caramel, it's not pure rum...

Very pleasant nose, indulgent on vanilla mixed with banana. On the palate, it stays on the same notes, quite flat but not unpleasant.

A pleasant aroma with a little tobacco and chocolate that then switches to something like an alcohol based cleaner. When drinking, I picked up pipe tobacco, sweetness, and just a little burn.
