Espiritus Pixan - 8 Años
Best poured into a mixer rather than sipped neat, this 8-year Mexican column-still rum is sweet and a bit hot at the same time. Expect vanilla, banana and a touch of spice, with a few tasters catching tobacco or chocolate before it turns toward a cleaner-like alcohol note. Pleasant enough but flat for many, and noticeably sweetened.

Dégustation calendrier de l’avent. Ce rhum nous avait plu avec mon fils. Très bien équilibré et suave ! Puis le 8 juillet 2023 avec Baptiste qui n’aime pas du tout ! Effectivement très rond et caramel, ce n’est pas du rhum à l’état pur…

Incredibly sweet and on top of it alcoholic. It would do very well within a mixer but would recommend not to add anything that is sweet. It is pleasant but would very much opt to include it in mixers instead of straight. Do not recommend it to ppl who are not used to alcohol.

It’s really nothing wrong with it, but it doesn’t appeal to me. By the way Pixan is Mayan and means “Spirit which gives life”. The nose is herbal and round with aromas of fruit and vanilla. At the palate the aroma comes back as flavors together with significant sweetness.
