Classic WP notes. Clearly on the more woody / roasted side. Alcohol is a bit to noticeable for a higher score.

#4188 This one is not that well balanced as the alcohol and wood are too dominant in my mind. Even with longer resting it doesnt really balance out. Fruity and very woody profile with an ABV out of balance. Price to quality is OK. The empty glass has some chocolate and coffee notes to it.

Nose: beautifully fruity, intense, banana, wood Palate: very dry, slightly bitter, not very fruity, wood I find the alcohol relatively well integrated at 60%. Conclusion: I find it a bit flat overall, would have expected more complexity on the palate due to the very nice nose.

Good, but without any highlights worth mentioning.

Got a sample of this rum for free from RumX. It’s a pot still distilled Worthy Park distilled in 2006 whereafter it’s tropical aged for 1 year and continental aged in an ex-Rum barrel for additional 15 years, before bottled at cask strength in 214 bottles at 59,3%. Overall an OK rum that doesn’t really reach some of Worthy Park’s own bottlings, maybe depending on that it’s mostly continental aged.

Nose nice fruity, citrus, some banana and minimal Annas. Light ester notes...In the mouth first sweet then dominates first alcohol (not very well integrated) fruit here clearly less but still present. Barrel influence is very noticeable on the palate. Finish rather short / medium with bitterness and slightly astringent.

Second tasting: no new findings, rating unchanged The nose starts typically Jamaican intense with fruit and barrel notes. The palate is very alcoholic and only pale fruity.Instead, the tannins from the barrel come through more strongly. The medium-long finish is almost entirely the toasty notes.Interesting for Worthy Park, I had expected a fruitier profile.

Alcohol note in the finish slightly disturbing. Otherwise, without any misses but quite manageable in taste. Not a bad rum, but still with over 100 euros in my opinion a bit too expensive.

This WP nearly lacks the classic fruit flavors and almost has only wood and spices coming through. I expected more….
