CoR Clarendon Jamaica No. 13 1997
First surprise: it's pale as a young whisky despite 24 years in oak — that's the continental aging showing. The nose is all fine fruit esters, yellow fruit and a little floral; the palate runs sweet, spiced, citrusy and dry with a short finish. Lots of orange comes through. Several tasters call it light and easy, more sipper than heavyweight Clarendon.
- Orange-forward
- Smooth and round
- Fine fruit esters

How does CoR Clarendon Jamaica No. 13 1997 taste?
Aggregated from 17 community reviews.
Pale, orange-forward, easy old Clarendon Most find it round, orange-forward and easy to drink. The honest catch: heavily reduced and noticeably light for its age — one taster blind-guessed Irish whisky over Clarendon.

Second tasting: better and not as light as I remembered. Since one must not be deceived by the pale color. 1First, the pale color amazes, for about 24 years in the barrel has not colored much.On the nose, however, there is no surprise: fine fruit esters stream towards me.On the palate much more intense, sweet, spicy, woody and dry.The finish is quite short and dry. After a break, the fruit esters flash again. These light Clarendons do not really fit into my Beuteschema 😉

I find the 97 Monymusk very good. This is already significantly diluted, but thereby a quasi easy sipper. I like it really well!
Review by Mirco
Sehr schöner Sipper, kann mir vorstellen, wie super die Abfüllung ohne die Verdünnung geworden wäre! Das hätte den Rum in wesentlich höhere Spären katapultiert.
Review by DosenZorn
Erstaunlich hell für sein Alter. Entsprechend dessen auch eher zurückhaltender Fasseinfluss, der erst im Abgang zum Vorschein kommt. Ansonsten schönes Profil im mittleren esterlevel und eher easy drinking.

Got this sample for free from RumX. It’s a pot still Clarendon MMW distilled in 1997 whereafter it’s continentally aged for 24 years in an ex-rum oak barrel before bottled in 192 bottles at 49,2%. Overall a very round and smooth rum with lots of orange taste.
Review by DomM
Not bad this one - pleasant and very orange forwards.
Review by Serge
Really very bright for its age. The difference from the tropically stored release colleague could not be more drastic. This one is bright, floral, mild esters, yellow fruit...good, but worlds from the 1995 no.10 with tropical storage.
Review by Andi
Very fruity on the nose, but then rather dry on the palate.
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Quite sweet, mild and thin overall. Blindly I would never have guessed Clarendon but rather an Irish whisky. Delicious but a little irritating when you taste such an old Clarendon. But no wonder with 100% continental maturation.
