Exciting Indonesian single cask! Very intense black powder notes with strong coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. A well-rounded taste. And for 50€ an 11y old cask strength single cask is more than fair!

Very straightforward profile with lots of toffee and vanilla sweetness. Also oak, chocolate, café au lait, subtle spicy notes. Well worth a try for the price, very classic, drinkable profile, but lacking in refinement.

And that was the best from Gut Schwechow. I could buy it there. Really a great rum, very woody, but above all roasted, coffee and dark chocolate are recognizable. Also a slight sweetness thanks to vanilla and caramel.

Beautiful full aroma and also taste. I smell tropical fruits, vanilla and sweet spices. I wouldn't say it's 62,3, it feels weaker.

A rum recommended to a friend by his wine merchant.A nice nose on the roasted, woody and some fruits.A different mouth from the nose with more fruits, dried fruits, vanilla.In the finish the woody/vanilla remains long in mouth with chocolate.Almost only qualities and the alcohol is very well integrated. It lacks perhaps a wider and deeper aromatic palette.

Nose: Sweetness, coconut and vanilla, plus a warm cask spice. Overall soft and approachable, without the 62.3% being overly sharp. Palate: Round, sweetish and pleasantly oily, with distinct coconut-vanilla aroma and some wood. The high strength gives it volume but remains surprisingly well integrated. For me less a complex analysis rum than an uncomplicated, cozy sipper. Finish: Warm and spicy, rather medium to medium-long. The coconut and vanilla notes remain in the aftertaste, but the complexity could be greater. Conclusion: For about 50 € a very interesting rum for a relaxed evening with friends. Sweet, soft and uncomplicated, without much depth or dramatic development.

A rum that I've had on my radar for a long time, but the reviews always put me off, but then I bought it at the super price of 33€, and I have to say I could have bought a second one for the money, because it's really good. An intense nose with lots of dried fruit, baking spices, wood and dark chocolate. The alcohol is well integrated, if it really is 62%! A sweet, spicy palate, almost too sweet, but it fits in with the overall taste. Again the dried fruit, wood, roasted aromas and dark chocolate. Quite a long, beautiful finish. A fine winter rum, rather unsuitable for the warm season. I like it, recommended purchase (for the winter 😉)! 👍🏻

Very sweet on the nose yet not that sweet on the palate. Very woody and chocolate on the palate, with a bit of cinnamon and candied fruit Quite long woody finish with oaky and peppery hints Intense and balanced but still smooth. Alcohol is well integrated The palate could be more of a variety but still an awesome bottle.
