Romdeluxe Diamond Unicorn Tasting Kit Vol. 2 MEE
Dried fruit and warm chocolate lead here, with vanilla and a roasted edge from twenty years in the barrel. This is a slow burner — a couple of members admit it didn't grab them at first, then opened up beautifully given time in the glass. The MEE mark keeps it a touch fruity, almost orchard-brandy, and at cask strength the alcohol sits remarkably well. One taster puts it just behind its sibling SVL for creaminess.

This one was a retasting for me as I tried it at the Wild Series Release tasting at whisky.dk and I still love it. This is a very nice release and I think it's a bit sad you have to buy the set to get one. Complex and well balanced with near perfect alcohol integration. I was lucky enough to sneak in a second sample to bring home 😉

Verkostet auf der Pueblo del Ron Nürnberg 2024. Zusammen mit Gunnar als seinen letzten Rum auf der Messe probiert. Danke auch hier erstmal an die Jungs von RdL, die den Dram ausgegeben haben. Anfangs hat er mir gar nicht so geschmeckt. Aber je länger er im Glas war und man sich verquatscht hatte, umso besser fande ich ihn. Definitiv braucht er viel Zeit, dann entfaltet er sein können.

Exciting rum! I don't know the Mark MEE. In terms of taste, I'm relatively clear on Uitvlugt, even though this is actually a Savalle style. Reminds me of the Mezan Uitvlugt, for example.

Fällt im direkten Vergleich zum SVL deutlich ab. Hier fehlt die Cremigkeit und die leckeren Nuss/schoko - Noten. Hab immer ein wenig Obstler im Kopf, Der Unterschied ist in etwas so wie beim Belize 1st und 5th Draw. Natürlich trotzdem ein guter Rum, knapp über der 8. von Romdeluxe kommt in dieser Kategorie ja nicht wirklich was schlechtes. Aber das Dreierpack kann man sich alleine wegen diesem hier sparen.
