Review by Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪
As a good admirer of Rum Nation rare series I would have expected more. A pleasant rum, but not one to be tasted at a certain level. It comes across as not very fragrant and the pungent/vegetable part of the Savanna in my possession is barely hinted at, leaving it a rum that is not too expressive. The finish with a tentative start of chocolate moving then from lychee/grape to tobacco turns out to be unimpressive and of average duration. The price of 79 euros makes it a decent buy, since for decent rums one has to spend high sums. The type of distillation is not given, perhaps I would opt for continuous distillation. This bottle of 2001 seems to me to be the depowered version of 2004.

01.06.2019 Had a nice meet up at this Nordic Rum Fest where we brought some of our own bottles. Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: wood, roasted, fruity, pineapple, light ester, olive. Palate: oily, fresh, fruity, sweet, spicy, medium dry. Finish: long and warm, wood, fruity, olive, medium dry.

Tends to be a very "unspectacular" Savanna
