Still a really good rum 😊 ------------------ #5085 Saturday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Light wood, fruits, light pineapple, banana, light caramel, faint nutts, faint nougat, light citrus. Palate Medium intense, light wood, fruity, light caramel, faint smoke, banana, light orange, light anise. Finish Long and warm, light wood, light caramel, light banana, light pineapple, light anise, light earthy. Empty glass Vanilla, caramel, light tannins, light floral. Needs to rest for a good while to really open up and release all its flavours.

9:On the nose, the first impression we get is very tempting with tropical fruits like pineapple and unripe, delicious banana, roasted wood notes with caramel, cream toffee, pastry, nuts, fruit cake, nougat and some bacon, spicy with vanilla.A very round rum in front of us! On aeration, a molasses is grassy, later with tea and hay, as the wood becomes a bit resinous, some interesting fruit notes arise with rarely noticed rhubarb, orange peel. 9:On the palate, the attack is delicious with unripe banana, pineapple, orange peel, roasted wood with nuts, caramel, cream toffee, sweet honey, spicy vanilla, nutmeg, after resting the rum with red bell peppers...It is very creamy, balanced. Here also, after before mentioned rest, rhubarb note arises, the molasses is herbaceous and with tea, becomes darker with licorice, a help of a bit resinous wood. 9:The finish is long, sweet, dry and a bit tannic, roasted wood notes and fruits still delicious, now more overripe, as the molasses is earthy, flowery with a violet, then tea, tobacco and hay notes... A beautiful worthy park nose. Beautiful fruitiness combined with a more pastry-like structure. Elegant finesse. The alcohol stings the nostrils a little and suggests that it's going to sting on the palate, and it does. I'm really having more and more trouble with the 60% stuff... A little water makes it more drinkable and pleasant. Otherwise, apart from this little problem for me, it's a nice worthy park. Thanks Mike for the sample.

A decent WP that leans more towards the woody spicy side. I still perceive some tropical fruit aromas on the nose, but they get lost on the palate. There it moves on a strong, more bitter side. This continues into the finish. A good bottling.

This is what you want from a WP! Fine droplet, balanced woody-spicy, sufficient strength. The previous average rating of 86 points is absolutely justified, I agree without hesitation, the rum is really successful.

Blind tasting Worthy Park with: HV WPL (RX272) HV WPM (RX1089) Schotman (RX17173) Wolfgang Klotz (RX21848) TWJ (RX14182) 3rd place (8.4): TWJ. The nose is quite closed and ends up somewhat unbalanced both on the nose and palate. Slightly bitter on the palate and also in the finish. 2nd place (8.6): HV WPL + WK Spirits. The WK brings overall more wood and spices and with lots of time in the glass also more fruity aromas. The HV WPL also needs some time in the glass but then has a nicely complex nose. On the palate, besides tropical fruits, also subtle glue and esters. 1st place (8.7): HV WPM + Schotman. The Schotman is probably the roundest WP in the cross-tasting with a nice peach note. The WPM stands out with smoky aromas and licorice a bit. WP has flown under my radar so far, unjustly. I'm really positively surprised and will probably have a WP in my glass more often in the future :)

An outstanding Worthy Park! I hadn't expected such a full mouthfeel. A Jamaican with lots of dark fruit flavors, roasted aromas, tobacco, mint and wood. Astringent. It's a lot of fun! One of the best Worthy Park rums I've had in my glass so far! The alcohol could be a little better integrated, the finish is long. Many thanks for the sample @Rodolphe

I'm usually not a big fan of Worthy Park, but I quite like this one. Quite spicy on the nose, on the palate then the typical WP banana, plus black tea and surprisingly a lot of eucalyptus. Very harmonious and round. Really a successful bottling.

Great extraordinary nose of rhubarb cake with meringue, some vanilla, roasted nuts, and sour tropical fruits. Aromatic then typically Worthy Park but without flaws: banana, nutmeg, orange peel, sandalwood, green pepper, toasted oak barrel, and a bit of sour pineapple in the finish. Absolutely solid Worthy Park!

A very good WP. Good integration of the alcohol, beautiful perfumes and a nice length. I like it a lot 🤩♥️ second tasting of this nectar, And noticeable increase in the note. It's really very good and very well made.

Very good, all in smoothness, Nose quite mild. A lovely Worthy Park that confirms the high quality selection at The Whisky Jury. The nose is pleasant, lively but balanced between tropical fruits on one side (banana, pineapple, coconut) and spices on the other (chilli, vanilla, cinnamon), while pastry notes come in the middle with caramel, toffee and pastries. The profile is greedy, intense and full of charm. The palate is warmly spicy, with pepper, chili and nutmeg. Nuts, vanilla and caramel accompany the profile in a more pastry-like tone, while the fruit becomes sharper with citrus (orange zest) and tropical fruit (banana, pineapple). The woodiness is dry but elegant on the palate. Overall, the alcohol is well integrated and the flavors blend well together. The finish is long, warm, dry and as spicy as ever. Complementing this are saline notes, cloves, tea and coffee, giving it a dry but not too bitter edge. The fruit is still perceptible at the back of the palate, along with the warmth of the spices. A very good Worthy Park, balanced and accomplished, which was relatively accessible when it was released.

nose: fresh banana, and tangy exotic fruits: pineapple, passion fruit. A hint of gourmet vanilla. It's really a bomb of fresh and fruity exotic fruits. It's a festive rum that sends some almond notes. The woodiness comes from a slightly damp barrel. No heavy esters at all in this rum. palate: the spiciness of Jamaican pepper ignites the tongue, with a bit of smokiness, immediately followed by this fruity explosion: pineapple, banana in the back of the palate. The whole is round, pleasant. We find vanilla, caramel. A bit of black pepper closes the march but opens onto the finish. finish: long and fruity, quite a few spices remain.

Nice complex, not quite typical Worthy Park. More on the woody, bitter, astringent side. Blind I would have guessed a Clarendon, as there are hardly any tropical fruits present. Still a very good, complex rum that is fun!

On the nose, you can recognize the Worthy Park structure. With a distinctive bitterness that I was not familiar with from this origin. On the palate, fruit, vanilla and caramel. Very present alcohol. Medium-long finish. I expected more, but the nose is really cool.

Tasting of a complimentary sample, in a Benedictine glass. Upon opening, a brief, sudden malted barley fragrance. Big, fat tears. A beautiful coppery aspect tinged with dark yellow notes. The nose is buttery, sweet and salty, almost brioche-like. Spices, a few candied fruits (raisins), candied roots (ginger) and just-ripe tropical fruits (plantain, starfruit, young mango, etc.) It's quite pastry-like. On the palate, a lively first sip of Creole cooking spices. Then, a small bed of tropical fruit cooked in the pot lines the sides of the mouth. Gradually, the fruit becomes sweeter. The butteriness of the nose returns, but less pronounced. A subtle woodiness builds the palate, but remains in the background. Medium-length finish, rather astrigent. A little stewed fruit juice remains on the palate. Good, well-made, lacking a little depth.

Not a very strong nose but still an interesting WP nose. Alcohol is ok but could be beter integrated. Rather long finish. From start to finish a good WP rum, but not outstanding. I love the citrus in this one.

This Worthy Park impresses with barrel-driven spicy notes of pastry with lots of vanilla. Plus tropical fruits and lots of wood, without being dominated by tannins. Overall dry and herbal and toasty.

Beautiful pronounced woody fruity nose, the taste is again quite pronounced, for me quite strong with a longer finish, sharp and peppery. Still pleasantly noticeable after some time.
