Fresh sugarcane, tropical fruits, floral notes, and a peppery spice are clearly in the foreground, accompanied by a slightly oily texture. It demands some attention and is not an easy sipper. If you like honest, dry Agricoles, you'll find a lot of character here.

#7108 31.07.2026 Relaxing with some samples while celebrating that I passed 500 km of walking this month. Listening to some old Armin van Buuren tracks on Spotify. A very decent release with a good price tag in my mind and it does really well iina sprite. Vegetal driven profile with fruits, grass, sugarcane, salt, mint and light honey.

La Route des Rhums Advent Calendar 2022 No. 2. Here a white Agricole from Papa Rouyo. Typical Agricole notes on the nose, tropical fruits and citrus fruits. On the palate also tropical fruits and citrus fruits. I just find it a bit too alcoholic.

Despite a pleasant aromatic profile, the alcohol on the palate is not fully integrated and disrupts the aromatic experience. This burning, almost acidic finish is really unpleasant. A pity because overall it was more than decent, some aromas on the palate (sugar cane, honey, black pepper, pineapple) were promising.

Nose Alcohol-forward, a bit biting nose. Buttery side, maybe like a croissant. Clearly new make-y, unripe, green side. Lots of grape seeds. Dried white grapes, dried mulberries. Slight forest fruits and ginger underneath. Obvious banana leaf. A bit of straw and dry grass. A bit of whey. White flowers and floral notes develop over time. Slight menthol. Maybe jasmine or lily. There's also a thinner, solvent-like side underneath but not disturbingly obvious. Alcohol pushes the balance a bit. Can't really talk about great aromatic depth. A plastic smell reminiscent of asthma medicine. Very slight boiled corn in the background. Floral notes intensify over time. 81 Palate Alcohol is felt on the palate, even a bit too biting. This bite doesn't fully go away over time. Estery notes in the background; nice fruitiness; light tropical fruit: mango, maybe a bit of pineapple. Plastic note and immediately after a very medicinal note; gauze and tincture of iodine. Sweetness is low to medium-low. Light apricot. Slight grey pepper and nutmeg underneath. A bit of thyme. Straw and again light corn and unripe grape in the far back. Not bad but a bit shallow. 81 Finish Suddenly a floral side like rose water opens up. The alcohol here burns the tongue a bit. Intensity is medium-high to high, length is medium-short. Ripe peach and apricot. A bit of green anise. Fresh and dry grass. The rose aroma brings an unexpected new nuance making the finish interesting enough. 81 Overall impression The new make-y side is toned down over time and opens the way for some complexity but the alcohol doesn't really benefit from time. It gives the impression of not being a fully finished product. 80 Price-performance: N/A Would I buy again?: Trying it was enough.

Very beautiful nose of sugar cane and floral, soft, a bit herbaceous. On the palate after the citrus the alcoholic strength suddenly reveals itself with grass, quite long with a bit of bitterness but not disturbing, and then... it warms the throat! Great success for this high-quality high proof.
