On the nose more towards the dark, burnt sugar and caramel notes. Some herbs and with some time also Druid fruits. Still dark chocolate and (burnt) espresso are dominating here. Very nice in the palate. Again leaning towards darker notes. Molasses, dark chocolate and caramel. Yet more fruits versus the nose and a nice sweetness rounding the profile out..

#5022 31.12.2024 Relaxing watching TV while waiting for 2025. Nose Wood, light roasted, fresh, fruits, raisin, light herbs, light berries, faint anise. Palate Oily, round, wood, faint smoke, light coffee, light cherry, berries, light salty, light licorice, light herbal, spice. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, oily, spice, faint mint, light chocolate, fruits, light herbal. The empty glass has stronger mint and chocolate notes as well as faint honey and faint smoke.

Franconian Tasting Gang on 10.05.2024 A nice Diamond for me again, fairly round without big edges or corners. Because it will annoy Serge, I call this an easy sipper, lacking that certain extra for a better rating.

This Diamond is a little too woody and roasty for me. This runs through from the nose to the finish. In my opinion, the alcohol is also not perfectly integrated. I hardly notice any fruit. All in all, a little one-sided. When I compare my rum in the glass with the ratings of some others, I can't shake off the impression that there are different bottlings here 🤷🏻

A very good Diamond distilled in the Savalle column. The nose reveals lovely fruity aromas of exotic and yellow fruits, coconut, pineapple, dried fruit and citrus. Sweet, aromatic spices fill the nose, accompanied by chocolate, caramel, sweetness and honey notes. Slightly toasted oak and walnuts round out an already appealingly gourmand nose. On the palate, the rum is smooth, intense, elegant and round. We find the dark, heavy notes of Demerara, sweet, fragrant spices, a beautiful basket of exotic fruits, elegant oak and a truly appreciable gourmandise. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is of decent length, drier and even darker than the palate. Woody notes, lightly roasted hazelnuts and empyreumatic aromas take over from the fruit, but remain very accessible. A great success in every respect, and a credit to its still.

8,7:On the nose, toasted, burnt wood notes, whisky like, caramelized, meaty, smoky with hints of bacon, roasted nuts, chocolate, buttery, creamy, a bit sweet, fruits with coconut, pineapple, dried apricots and raisins, citrus fruits, balanced, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the wood is charred with coffee, leather, spicy with baking spices, the molasses is dark with licorice, some fermented hints with cream are present, fruity tones with cherry, strawberry. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is fruity, sweet, creamy, round with tropical fruits(coconut), cherry, dried and citrus fruits, some are candied, the apple is baked, roasted wood notes like caramel, roasted nuts, pastry, biscuits, caramelized, spicy with allspice, vanilla, slightly smoky, some fermented notes like cream are also there. 8,6:The finish is long, dry, round, with tons of dark charred, burnt, smoky roasted oak notes like chocolate, nuts, mocha, bbq, caramel, spicy with cinnamon, fruity with tropical, citrus and dried fruits, the molasses is dark with black tea, earthy with cigar tobacco, if we are patient, perfumed and again dairy tones are present. Very nice diamond. I like it very much. Dark and sweet notes on the nose and palate. Burnt sugar, spicy cinnamon. Light fruity notes and a little coffee. Well-integrated alcohol. Mild, a very well-rounded bottling overall.

Very fruity, has so right what of PX sherry, red fruits, dried raisins and also a certain sweetness with a long finish - I would like to have a whole bottle of it. Until now I have not really come across Guyanas with si a profile.

Very nice body, fruit, apricot and wood. Unfortunately not a very long finish and not complex enough to rate it higher. The alcohol is well integrated. Quite drinkable and suitable as a daily sipper.

Romdeluxe Diamond Wild Series Rum Diamond may present itself as a rare diamond from Guyana, aged 18 years in cask, with a solid overall impression, and it is fair to mention rich notes of wood, tropical fruit, caramel, and a seemingly balanced alcohol strength. In my view, however, there is an issue with alcohol integration and depth of character. Both the aroma and the palate come across as rather average for a Guyana rum, with the alcohol sitting too much on the surface and at times overpowering the finer flavor layers instead of smoothly binding them together. This is not a bad rum, but its profile feels flat and somewhat monotonous compared to more traditional Diamond bottlings, which usually offer greater depth and a more complex evolution. Overall, it comes across as a rather weaker Guyana, with its main features logically shaped by age and the distillation setup, yet with poorer alcohol integration and a less distinctive character than I would expect from an 18 year old release. If you are looking for something representative of the category, it can serve that purpose, but if you are searching for a truly expressive and layered Diamond with well developed flavor lines, this bottling will most likely not convince you.
