Collectors curious about rum from an unusual origin are the natural audience here — Thailand isn't a source you see every day. The nose draws people in: spicy and fruity with vanilla, toffee, sour cherry and a whisper of licorice. The palate is where it slips, though. Several tasters call it thin and a touch watery, wishing for the 55% version. Pleasant and balanced, but short.

CDI brings so much to the market, there have often been some brilliant ones, but much more often just ordinary stuff. I hadn't had anything from Thailand yet. So I'm cautiously curious (unfortunately it's diluted)... Nose: spicy and fruity with a pleasant, dry sweetness. Vanilla and toffee alongside sweet, fresh lemon, sour cherry and blackcurrant. Behind that unobtrusive wood and spicy-sweet, soft licorice with a hint of tobacco. Very pleasant and sufficiently intense for only 43%. 81 Palate: spicy and pleasant. A bit thin, but by no means flat. That's refreshing. Slightly salty at first with vanilla and anise, plus a bitter-nutty note towards pecan. Fruit and a slight sweetness come from dried date. Short finish, but overall surprisingly good, also in taste. 79 The 55% version would be really interesting.

Yeah, I agree, this is a decent rum, but nothing more. It’s quite sweet, but still borderline; A.H. Riise is way worse :-) Sure, caramel is noticeable here, as well as some vanilla and toffee.

The nose makes you want more, flavor-wise more % would have really helped. So unfortunately overall too thin and too watered down and unfortunately does not reveal too many aromas... Shame. Wasted potential...

A spicy and sweet vegetal nose with dry herbs, ginger, chili, yellow fruits and licorice. The palate is diluted and alcoholic but some aromas eventually dominate: chili, ginger, herbs, cedar wood (cigar box). The finish is rather short even if bitter flavors last a long time. A rum too diluted but pleasant and balanced.

15/03/25: tasted @ Brussels Rhum Festival. I found this to be very average at best. I expected way more interesting notes from Thailand, but instead this was rather boring stuff. Not worth having on the shelf.
