#5347 24.05.2025 Finally back after a very nice dinner at "Argentina Steak House" in Flensburg. Time for some samples backed by Psy Trance 2025. Nose Round, balanced light wood, fruits, light nougat, faint caramel, light chocolate, faint smoke, spice, mango. Palate Oily, light wood, spicy, fruits, light orange, light chocolate, naturally sweet, light leather, light cherry. Finish Medium to long, fruits, light wood, medium spicy, light cherry, light caramel, light chocolate. Empty glass Strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, light caramel, faint coffee.

Very nice Venezuela single cask! Dark chocolate, dark currant, mocha, burnt caramel and vanilla pulp. Thick, heavy, light tannins and oily and generally very balanced and delicious!

Although I'm not a fan of rums with higher alcohol content, it suits this rum and, on the contrary, it probably wouldn't be as good in a lower one. In the aroma I smell a mix of wood, caramel, maybe vanilla... in the taste again wood plays the role and the alcohol comes in last... surprisingly I could imagine drinking the whole bottle and not just a sample. The finish is long, warm...

Quality, actually very moreish considering the high proof but not much in the way of complexity, and the alcohol is not particularly well integrated. Would recommend leaving it to breath for some time and it benefits from added water (never thought it would say this!). Woody, robust, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon spices, lots of milk chocolate, hint of orange and smoke. Floral dryness which I get with similar rums. Medium oily mouth feel, medium finish.

OK rum. Pleasant sweeter aroma with notes of caramel, nuts and vanilla, with a tangy flavour. The alcohol could be better integrated.
