"Very classic PM profile," as one member puts it — and that's the whole pitch here. This double-wooden-pot-still Port Mourant leans woody and roasted, with a licorice thread through the oily palate and a warm, lightly dry finish. A couple of tasters flag the alcohol as not perfectly integrated at 59.2%, reading a touch young for its age. Textbook PM, if not the most exciting one out there.

Most helpful positive review
The best thing about this rum is its nose, which smells incredibly like apple or green apple rings. In the mouth typical Wooden Still with many vegetal, woody and spicy notes. Finish: heavy barrel notes, slightly musty and vegetal too. The price is aligned with a 20-year aging accordingly high, but I think Ramero has more interesting rums on offer and you can get better Port Mourants elsewhere for the same price.

At first moment not as bad as one might think. Yes well, on the nose this rum is mostly woody, but also a bit roasted and spicy. So I definitely recommend this rum... absolutely ;-)

#4275 01.10.2023 I think the price tag on this one is very fair. The profile is medium heavy with roasted wood and light fruit. The palate is oily and medium spicy and I like the licorice touch to it. The finish is medium to long, lightly dry and warm. Draws beautiful curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some light caramel to it.

Already tried it at GRF back then but probably forgot to rate it. Since DomM was there for a quick sample swap and still had a sample, I could try it again calmly. Honestly, I have to admit I’m positively surprised.
