East Village Rum 2010

A few members sum it up the same way: better than most Dominican rums, but still unmistakably Spanish-style. Dark chocolate and salt make an interesting pairing on the palate, with vanilla, spice and a licorice edge. The catch shows up fast — the alcohol bites and isn't fully tucked in, and several tasters find it thin and short on depth. Pleasant, not deep.

Above average Spanish style rum. The alcohol is not ideally integrated and bites a little. On the palate, an interesting combination of chocolate and salt. Nice, but I personally lack the depth and creaminess.
