I find this rum simply very round. It's the expected Dom Rep profile but also just very tasty. Good cask selection and certainly a rum that can excite some for the rum world without big surprises for the nerds of this world 😜

A relatively superior Hispanic rum compared to its peers, but needs time to open up. The nose is focused on spices (vanilla, pepper, chili), chocolate, fairly light wood, dried fruits, caramel and a pastry touch. Despite everything, the alcohol is quite present in the nostrils. Then come slight herbal notes, rather unexpected. A rather nervous profile that needs to relax. On the palate, it's a fairly light, dull and bland rum that reveals itself little by little. Chocolate, caramel, spices (vanilla, pepper, licorice and salt) dominate the palate with some dried fruits, but it stops there. The alcohol remains present, slightly stinging the palate, but less intrusive than on the nose. The finish is extremely short, on generally similar notes. Dark chocolate, coffee and nuts are more marked, but do not prolong the length in the mouth. A Hispanic rum more authentic than most rums of this style, but lacking refinement and depth to compete with other styles.

Even after longer standing time rather restrained on the nose. I detect allspice, young wood, vanilla, a little toffee and light green (vegetal) notes. Considering the high expectations, just average. I prefer some Oliver&Oliver releases from the DomRep (like Ron Esclavo XO, Cubaney Centenario or Tres Hombres).

A classic Spanish style of mediocre quality! The alcohol is not very well integrated, on the palate it still comes across light and thin... it lacks depth and complexity. There are definitely much better ones, although this rum style hasn't convinced me so far.

Above average Spanish style rum. The alcohol is not ideally integrated and bites a little. On the palate, an interesting combination of chocolate and salt. Nice, but I personally lack the depth and creaminess.

He may be better than other rums from his origin (which I never drink). To me, he tastes exactly like I remember them. Multi-column alcoholic with poor integration and more like barrel than character that comes from the rum. Spaniard. With nice cocoa notes though – that may be – but still Spaniard. But you don't have to like everything. I definitely miss a lot of everything here.
