Second to last for today, time for bed :) Really good Agricole, can't complain at all. Plus we've got sugarcane and loads of (tropical) fruits?? especially blackcurrant :) Just enough :)

Enjoying a few samples after work. Nose: Round, fruits, spice, light wood, faint smoke, citrus, sugarcane, light prunes, light nuts. Palate: Round, light wood, faint roasted, fruits, light prunes, vanilla, light ginger, citrus, light nuts, medium dry. Finish: Medium long, light dry, wood, light citrus, light plum, faint tobacco, vanilla. Empty glass: Prunes, vanilla, ginger, light nuts, light tobacco.

A very fine single cask release from Depaz, which, despite being diluted to 45%, presents an impressive range of aromas and is incredibly soft and smooth on the palate. Lots of fruit, appropriate oak with a subtle varnish note, spices and herbs, as well as a floral undertone reminding me of geraniums... delicious!

Every time I have some of this in my glass, I'm initially surprised by the unpleasantly sharp nose. But with a little time, a very multifaceted rum unfolds. One of my absolute favorites!
