This rum delivered an impressive experience for me. The nose bursts with rich aromas of wine, honey, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, and hints of wood. On the palate, the rum is full-bodied, dense, and packed with tropical fruits, berries, dark chocolate, and spices. The balance of sweet/sour fruity notes and spicy ones keeps it engaging and dynamic throughout. The finish is equally satisfying with tobacco, oak, dried fruits, and a nutty, wine-like complexity that lingers. It’s bold, flavorful, and definitely a rum I’d want to have a full bottle of.

Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. 16y tropical aging 100% Coffey Collumn Still Ex bourbon+ 3y Ex Port cask, 60,1%.

You can clearly smell and taste the port influence. Personally, this 'finish' (if you can still speak of it after three years of maturation) is too much for me. I could no longer blindly identify the base. All in all, however, a good rum, a successful experiment, especially for port fans! Tasting again: I stand by my conclusion. A very good rum, but not enough Lucia for me.

01.02.2025 retasting at the Nordlichtertreffen. Earned a few more points. ------------------------- #4115 This one needs to rest for a while before giving it a go. Right from the bottle it's really intense but it settles after 15-30 minutes. Lightly fruity with powerful roasted wood. I like the mix of flavours but it's not perfect. The palate is nice and warm and lightly dry with some dried fruit. Draws thick slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some chocolate and light coffee. After a few hours roasted wood is left in the glass.

With Chairman's Reserve bottlings, you can be almost certain that you've got a great rum. This one is also very good. It is somewhat reminiscent of DomWhisky's Chairmans, but with less fruit, more wood and a little bitterness, which bothers me a little here. At the first tasting, I gave it 5 points more. Thanks to Zabo

The bottling no longer has much to do with a familiar St. Lucia. Nevertheless, a solid rum with very complex aromas. It tends towards 94NY but at a very good price, so it's definitely a great rum. But anyone expecting Lucia will be disappointed.

I was looking for a strong colum still rum as an addition to my shelf and as an occasional premium mixer for Old Cuban. The rum has already proven itself in the latter function. Here, the port slightly clashed with the apple of the sparkling wine - although I think it goes very well with a tart Rose Champagne. On its own, you get a full load of coconut combined with a rather fruity, dark red wine nose. Raisins, but also raspberry and grapes. Plus a few spices from the wood, especially cinnamon and some roasted aromas. I like that and it's what I was hoping to find. Reminds me a little of Guyana Column Still. In the mouth, the first thing that flashes up is raspberry, followed by dark chocolate. Unfortunately, as is often the case with Chairman's, a moderate alcohol integration interferes, with a rather sour and bitter attack. A dark aroma of heavy red wine and dark chocolate then develops. The rather delicate fruits from the nose hardly have a chance until the finish. Then they reappear, especially a great mixture of coconut and salty raspberry. A beautiful Colum Still that could have scored much higher if it had been a little more balanced in the mouth. The mixture of raspberry, coconut and dark chocolate is a real highlight.

Exciting. The port finish brings a new dimension to the St. Lucia profile. On the one hand, this bottling lacks a few of the nuances of the classic St. Lucia profile - this may also be due, at least in part, to the pure column style distillate. Boredom does not arise, however, because the final storage in ex-port casks brings many new impressions. Rather suitable for port lovers than for St. Lucia purists, but all in all quite a round profile.

Number #3 of my Saint Lucia Tasting. This is a cool rum with a really nice port finish — the port adds a pleasant touch. On the palate, you’ll find lovely notes of various berries. The finish is long and sweet, with a hint of eucalyptus. It’s absolutely delicious.

8,6:On the nose, port and glue, herbaceous, earthy molasses, toasted coconut, raisins, grapes, toasted oak with nuts, coffee, dark chocolate, strong, spicy, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the rum becomes dry, yellow fruits arise, various smoky, roasted notes like burnt sugar, confectionery, leather, some rubber. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is delicious at first, syrupy with port barrel finish and with various roasted oak notes like coffee, burnt sugar, caramel, hazelnut ice cream, dark chocolate, nougat, spicy and salty, fruity with raisins, prunes, coconut, banana, citrus fruits and berries. The molasses is earthy with tobacco, dark with licorice...Our tasting buds are quickly occupied with intense dryness, slightly bitter resinous wood, that lowers my grade for 0,3. 8,4:The finish is more balanced, dry&tannic, dryness diminshed, with smoky roasted wood notes, creamy, slightly resinous, spicy, pairing fruits like toasted coconut, red and citrus, dried fruits, minty molasses, rubber..

Like it! Alkohol super eingebunden.
