Perola Clarendon Bellamy's Reserve Jamaica Clarendon MDR 2007
Menthol front and center — think eucalyptus and spearmint pulled right through the nose, backed by furniture polish, leather, young oak and some not-quite-ripe tropical fruit. The nose tends to win people over more than the palate, which turns bitter, tannic and medicinal. One taster called it "very technical," which fits: a tropical-aged 2007 Clarendon that's fresh, drying and unusual rather than easy.
The community says- Deep menthol nose
- Very technical profile
- But: Bitter palate

Extremely intense clarendon and to my knowledge one of the first tropically matured 2007s. Personally, it's definitely too fresh, woody and bitter for me, but I'm sure there will be fans out there! The alcohol is perfectly integrated and, above all, it doesn't have the cheesy note of the cave guildive's sister cask at cask strength... But leather polish to the power of 10! Tastes extremely intensely of menthol, almost as if you were pulling spearmints through your nose and drinking some wood polish with it🤣 Nice light tropical fruit notes and a very fresh, bitter and spicy finish.

Bellamy tasting. A dark rum with a nose of menthol and polish, followed by yellow fruits. There's also a marked vegetal aspect. The palate, too, is marked by menthol and even eucalyptus, giving it freshness. A taste of unripe papaya, roast and tannins. The finish is long, with plenty of freshness, wood and fruit. A very fine rum marked by menthol, but fortunately with many other aromas. I feel transported to a summit, to an island, watching the sunrise with lots of wild mint all around and in the freshness of the early morning. Just great!

Interessante Nase, sehr mentholig. Kein easy Sipper. Sample aus dem RumX Gewinnspiel. Besten Dank an Philipp & Perola!!

Spicy Clarendon. The nose is even better than the taste. Nice fruity and somewhat floral nose... little wood. In the mouth very immature and alcoholic. Quite ok but nothing that I personally need.

Zajímavá dřevitá vůně s kafrem a mentolem, v pozadí trocha sušeného ovoce. Chuť je méně příjemná, mentol naprosto dominuje, je tam tabák a kafr.

Durchschnittlicher Clarendon ohne besondere Merkmale. Schöne tiefe Nase. Im Abgang alkoholisch trotz der nur 52%.

Parádní nálož technické vůně až takový Caroni nádech. Stejný masakr je i v chuti. Tropické ovoce, lak, dehet, mentol, kůže. Nemůžu si pomoct, Bellamy's muselo místo Jamajky nalahvovat Trinidad😃 Musím si nalít hned druhý kousek.

menthol, leather, polish and sweet vanilla at first, which is replaced by a rather strong bitterness at the end

Review by BTHHo 🥃
The taste of Jamaica is light with notes of camphor, menthol, young wood and pear. Menthol, apple and pear appear in the finish. Like many other Clarendon rums, it needs some time in the glass to fully develop 👍
Review by DomM
Classic Clarendon notes with lots of wood on the palate and finish.

Zajímavý vzorek, co mě bavil, dokázal bych si představit i celou láhev.
Review by Filip Lojín
Úžasný Clarendon, silný, štiplavý, svírá pusu, toto chceš! Víc a víc! Žádná nuda. Kup láhev dokud je!
