Renegade Lake Antoine Lower Crater Lake South (Single Farm Origin)

Green almost to a fault — this is sugarcane juice cranked way up, all fresh-cut cane, herbal sap and a metallic-saline edge that runs through the whole glass. Underneath there's raspberry and a bit of mango keeping it fresh. Several tasters put it next to French-island agricoles, and one felt the 50% reduction held it back from being a really great white. Bright, salty, unmistakably terroir-driven.

How does Renegade Lake Antoine Lower Crater Lake South (Single Farm Origin) taste?

Aggregated from 12 community reviews.

Grassy, saline Grenada cane spirit Well liked as a clean, cane-forward white, though a few find it too green and a touch over-reduced. The long saline finish divides people — some love it, one called it almost too long.

Very (too) vegetal on the nose. The cane is there, but really very green. Impression confirmed on the palate. Salty aftertaste.

Un drôle de rhum, trop sur les huiles essentielles et les fleurs à mon goût.

It smells like cane, very vegetal with truffle as a co-pilot. The nose is top.in the mouth however we go back down a notch it's good, still with cane and sugar plus the brine that invites itself, but too much reduced.Too bad without this reduction there was a way to make a great white I think.

It reminds me of a1710s and I find it very successful. Vegetal dominates, as it does on many rums made using the same methods, with a hint of metallic and salty notes. This rum also has quite a few very fresh fruity notes. I seem to prefer it to the nursery > bacolet I had the opportunity to taste.

Very fruity, smelling of raspberry. The taste is very strong, mainly fruit and alcohol. Long salty finish. Personally, this is almost a little too long for me. Nevertheless, I find it good for in between.

Compared to upper shows very clearly the difference in terroir. Fruity, some herbal notes.

Avg Rating 7.8/10 over 1,800 Rums

White rum is the most misunderstood shelf in the spirits store. The same label covers featherlight column-still rums built for daiquiris and unaged Jamaican overproofs that hit 63 percent and smell like a fruit market on fire. This page collects every unaged rum on RumX, from cocktail workhorses to terroir-driven cane juice spirits, each with the community rating that tells you which is which.
