A very good rum. A nice coffee and vanilla note on the nose. The taste is of course also vanilla and coffee. There is also a slight hint of caramel. The rum is slightly sweet, but perfectly ok.

Sample no.16 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2022. For a 46% abv it does not have that strong alcoholic punch on the nose but rather a faint sweet tone of oak and vanilla. Palate is fruity and roasted with some dark chocolate. Aged the last 40 days in ex-coffee liqueur casks but I cannot find any coffee on the palate. After the sip the coffee comes with oak and something sweet.

Comes across as very intense and woody. Also very smooth for its 46%, is probably a little sweetened. Notable aromas are those of dark chocolate and coffee. Pleasant but not earth-shattering.

Rhum de mélasse, sympa sans +, sur le café - chocolat, pas trop sucré-melasse au nez mais + en bouche. Peu complexe en bouche mais intéressant sur le chocolat-café.

Je m’attendais à un rhum assez prononcé en café au nez et on en est loin. Bien sûr on le retrouve mais pas tant que ça. Il est doux et rond un très léger boisé. En bouche on est très loin de tout ça, légèrement piquant avec une grosse présence du bois, du chêne et après on retrouve un léger côté café. La final dans le verre reste sur le boisé, légèrement vanillé et l’espresso.

"For a slight moment this has a hint of glue. But then we are back to the canon of sweetened rum without any character to dislike. They manage to do something which lacks any negative quality. But again a soul or character is amiss here"
