Low esters, mild aroma. Lower taste Savanna. Rums from the Savanna distillery are some of my favorites. I recommend everyone to try especially the ester-rich pieces like Grand Arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in a few drops of liquid for a long time.

👃 In this nose you find almost all facets of a traditional molasses rum from Savanna. Oak wood, spicy pepper, wood smoke, beeswax, leather, tannin, caramelized nuts, green tea, dried mint, fresh cherry. Caramel of stewed fruits, cherry, berries, apricots. A slight veil of varnish and glue. Magnificent roasting and empyreumatic character. Excellent integration of the alcohol. 😋 The tropical candied fruits I didn't have on the nose, mango, papaya, guava have a ball. A bit of Morello cherry with chocolate and cooking spices, like kirsch. Nice note of roasted dark chocolate and cooked vanilla, with chili as a common thread. Bitterness of wood and tea, freshness of dried mint, the return of encaustic products, glue and varnish. Complex, intense and evolving palate on the wood. ⛳ Long, warm, comforting, intense, drying. Caramelized and candied tropical fruits, spices, cocoa and bitter nuts, a bit of dried mint that keeps a relative freshness in all this omnipresent and balanced woodiness. The spicy note follows us from start to finish. 🏅 A dark, complex and balanced profile defined by all kinds of barrel variations. Toasted wood, spices, leather, tannin, nuts, typical Savanna molasses with very beautiful stewed fruits in the background. No presence of apple for me. 💡 Coincidence, this barrel #986 is a sibling barrel of #985 from the Wild Island "wave" and the UC Belgium "grouper". All three aged in ex-Cognac and Calvados barrels.

What a fabulous nose! Smoky, minty, full of mango and spices. The palate is very roasted and spicy, with an aftertaste of tropical fruit and pepper. Superb rum, which in my opinion has a nose above the mouth.

#5908 29.10.2025 Relaxing with a few samples after work hoping my upset stomach will get better before leaving for Tom Buteneers wedding tomorrow. Nose Fresh, medium intense, light herbs, light wood, cinnamon, faint peach, pear, light floral. Palate Fresh, round, balanced, light dry, light wood, light floral, cinnamon, light orange, light earthy, dried fruit, light herbs, faint caramel. Finish Medium long, fresh, light wood, light dry, light mint, light peach, cinnamon. Empty glass

The nose is marked by wood, pepper and tobacco. Very empyreumatic, as Savanna knows how to do. Where the nose seemed drier, in the mouth it is warmer and wetter. Much more expressive too, the high degree allows the rum to express itself without reserve. It attacks on the woody, we feel a little vanilla and a lot of chocolate. The finish is long and carried on the spices. A touch of smoke on the very end.
