Rum Shark Santa Teresa Salto Angel (Edition T2V) Era of Discovery 2009
Sipped neat, this is a hot, cask-strength Venezuelan that trades polish for punch. Expect vanilla, dark chocolate, orange and honeyed sweetness up front, then a sharp, woody kick that catches a few tasters off guard. One member summed it up as "oranges and sugar on the nose, but very rough in mouth" — and still loved it. Reads dry-ish despite the sweet notes.

How does Rum Shark Santa Teresa Salto Angel (Edition T2V) Era of Discovery 2009 taste?
Summarized by AI from community reviews.
Hot, cask-strength orange-and-chocolate sipper Most find it fuller and more interesting than the lighter 47% version, with real vanilla-chocolate-orange character. The catch: it runs hot and stinging, so the alcohol isn't for everyone.

Pleasant rum, fuller and more flavorful compared to 47, more strength, a successful piece for evening sipping with cigars. Taste of vanilla, dark chocolate, orange, honeyed sweetness. Aroma - citrus, orange, honey scent.

13 years of tropical aging already gives a little hope for a good rum. The nose is sharp and smells of vanilla. On the palate very sweet and sharply woody. Very sharp. The finish is again sharp with vanilla and some wood.

#5072 Friday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Medium dark. Nose Light wood, vanilla, light sweet, fruits, light honey, light caramel. Palate Lightly sweet, light wood, vanilla, fruits, light caramel, light spicy, light citrus. Finish Medium to long, light wood, vanilla, fruits, light pineapple, faint leather. Empty glass Light chocolate, spice, light orange, light earthy, faint leather.

The 50 is better than the 47, fuller but also stronger. It's just a bit better, but the 47 is easier to drink.

This stronger sister is more interesting compared to lighter one

Vintage 2009. With 7.9 out of 10, it is a good, though not exceptional rum.
