Anyone who already likes the classic Foursquare profile will feel at home here: dried fruit, milky caramel, vanilla and a bit of roasted wood, with less coconut than usual. Several tasters call it round and balanced, but a touch too alcoholic for a cask-strength 16-year-old. A few hoped a 2006 vintage would surprise them more; instead it sits comfortably among the many good FSQ bottlings without pulling ahead.

#4628 24.02.2024 Great tasting event at Whisky Watcher with food and lots of bottles. Nose Light roasted wood, fruity, sweet, light caramel, faint chocolate. Palate Light roasted wood, fruity, naturally sweet, light caramel. Finish Medium to long, light wood, caramel, faint nutts.

Delicious 2006 foursquare but overall I was hoping for a bit more from this bottling... There are better 2006s. The alcohol could also be much better integrated and overall just a bit unspectacular and not very complex.

Edit: tried again against others, rating unchanged A pleasing Foursquare, but I would have expected a little more from a 2006 vintage. In my opinion, it can hold its own with all the ECS bottlings, but unfortunately doesn't stand out from them. I will let it compete against various ECS. But the alcohol is well integrated.

Finally able to sit down after some time with education, exam, festivals etc. This is a very nice foursquare, well rounded in the nose with hints of fruits, caramel and some wood. In the notes I got tropical and dried fruits, chocolate and woody aftertones

A typical Foursquare profile without much surprise: coconut well present, dried fruits. More woody on the nose than on the palate where the rum reveals itself rather soft. Well integrated alcohol. Lacks length on the palate. But still very pleasant!

At first sip, was pretty unimpressive. But it was just bottled so maybe was too soon. I sampled it and tried again later, way better. Typical foursquare indeed, but strong on the sweet side, honey and caramel are hiding the dried fruits. Almost no coconut. A nice rum, but not my favourite foursquare

Dried fruit, coconut, milky caramel, chocolate, vanilla, wood, ripe banana, tropical fruit on the nose. Even after longer aeration still has a bit alcoholic bite. Wood, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, light coffee and rosted tones on the palate. Very solid FSQ. I love the design of the label. I would love to know more about its origin.

It didn't really convince me. Not very creamy and the flavor profile was also somewhat faceless. Possibly just because I was on the go and only tasted it quickly on the terrace at Zabo. But my first impression didn't really grab me.

Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.
