Tasted this Agricole at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s a blend of rum aged 15, 12, 9, 6, and 3 years aged in Bourbon barrels and bottled in 3500 bottles. The nose is intense, round, sweet, woody, fruity and spicy with scents of sugarcane, honey, caramel, orange, lime, lemon, pepper and mint. At the palate it’s round, smooth, spicy, sweet, fruity and a little bitter with flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, caramel, orange, citrus, lime and dark chocolate. The finish is rather long.

#5760 28.09.2025 Day two of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. A very nice and well balanced Agricole with nice wood, chocolate and spices. The fruits are more in the back of this bottling.

A superior permanent range rum, this Père Labat, which aims to be Diplomatic, plays the card of finesse and tenderness here. The nose is adorned with notes of lime and zest, fresh and juicy sugarcane, mild spices, and butter caramel. While indulgence is present, freshness is also there with a hint of menthol. A nice, round, and varied profile. The palate shifts direction and lets the spices express themselves, growing in intensity: nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, chili, and vanilla jostle on the palate and upset the balance of power. Lime and sugarcane persist, while the cognac adds a touch of finesse to the already quite soft and round profile. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish, of medium length, returns to balance with the comeback of menthol, the arrival of tannins and grapefruit, and the maintenance of lime, sugarcane, and spices. The whole is homogeneous and drier but does not lose its style. A rum that tries to play in the big leagues for its young age and has some assets to showcase.
