A youngervice bell pepper, honey and grapes make this one interesting one Le Galion agricole, but the reduews's, watered--down palate is the sticking point — several tasters call it "too thin" and wish for higher proof. There's a Savanna Grand Arôme kinship in the fermmented y, salty--olive funk, yet at 45% it thins out and the finish fades fast. Good in cola; underwhelming as a neat sipper.

Many thanks Johannes for this blind tasting. #No2 This sweet soft nose reminds me a bit of "Courcelles" vanilla, violets, candied fruits... awesome!! On the palate it then falls off noticeably... similar to the nose but a bit flat here, the ABV is clearly missing... would guess max. 45% and 4-6 years.

Johannes blind tasting rum no. 2: I don't like this at all. There's an aroma I would describe as resinous-sour-fruity and artificial. It accompanies you from nose, palate to finish. I really can't place the rum. I guess it's a Clairin. Edit: I was totally wrong there

#6897 08.06.2026 Training finished on the bike and time for some samples while watching a TV programme about unsolved murders. A decent rum that I would use for my cola. Medium intense profile with sugarcane, grass, fruits, smoke, olive, salt and some tar.

Blind with a lot of closeness to Savanna Grand Arômes, which of course also fits perfectly with the Le Galion profile. The reduction works here too, for me it doesn't quite reach the almost incredible value-for-money hit RX6593, still a great release. Only left to wonder "What if..." a bit more proof had been kept here...? We may indulge in fantasies.

Another sample from Johannes' blind tasting series. Again, it doesn't really grab me. Too thin and nondescript without depth and too watered down. So far, the samples don't really suit my taste or I'm too critical.

Johannes Bild Tasting. Many thanks for this opportunity! 😊 The Galions definitely have taste parallels to a Savann Grand Arome. Same here, minimal. More ABV would certainly have been great and would have given the rum a bit more complexity.

Blind Tasting #2: first sensation: citrus fruits/marmelade. With some time to breath I also get roasted bell peppers. Interesting. On the palate: honey and woodiness. Some grapes akin to a sweeter white wine. Cheers, Johannes for the set - was a blast to taste.

Blind tasting set from Johannes (thanks for that): OK, from the nose it could be a cheap Savanna. Very thin and watered down on the palate. Hardly any finish, gone and forgotten immediately. Not convincing.

Nice, uncomplicated Galion to drink. Unfortunately, the reduced alcohol content is responsible for the aroma and taste not being intense enough. At 53% plus, the bottling would easily jump over the 80-point mark, as all Martinique typical trademarks are present.

Smells and tastes perfumed. Somehow artificial. Very fruity, sour, lightly fermented. Quite thin in the mouth. A bit better at the back. Hints of Savanna in the finish and aftertaste, but quality-wise still too poor for that. No idea what this is supposed to be.

Really unsure if I like this one. Menthol and alcohol. Bitter and weird. There is not much happening in the middle. Some yellow fruit in the end. I mean it is not horrible but I don't know if I like it...
