Raisin, dried apricot and a salty lick set this apart from the sweet Dominican rums most people know. The Madeira cask adds a spicy, wine-soaked depth over young, fresh oak. At 56.6% the nose can read hot and woody, but the palate turns full and rounded — several tasters were pleasantly surprised. One member called it a genuine advent-calendar find, not the soft candy you'd expect from the DomRep.

Nice solid dom rep with Madeira wine finish. Dried apricots, brine, raisins, sulphur, some honey and popcorn. Alcohol well integrated, Madeira finish binds well and brings an extra complexity.

Nice nose, sweetish and rosy with a note of port wine. Although this plays more in the background. Definitely expectant. On the taste side, something spicy that I quite like. Really nice rum that’s fun.

On the nose, I can't get much from it, too alcoholic alongside primarily quite fresh wood. On the palate, it surprisingly comes across quite full-bodied. Spicy wood and also sweet dried fruits, probably somewhat sugared.
