I can't really place this rum either. Definitely alcoholic on the nose, same on the palate, for me a slight cognac and whisky note. But you can drink it quite well neat. It's okay.

The Aruak rum comes across as wood-forward with lots of oak, a slight sweetness, and a hint of plaster and leather. Fruity nose, a bit of chocolate on the palate, but alcoholic and bitter. Overall difficult and not very smooth. I have to add something. When the glass is empty and I take a sip or two of water, the taste of Hansaplast and leather lingers...
