Sip this neat and slow — it barely resembles what most people picture as rum. Unaged Haitian cane-juice spirit, so the glass fills with fresh sugarcane, herbs, olive brine and a green, almost rotten-vegetal edge. Several tasters pull tomato, black tea and menthol out of it too. At 54.3% it's raw but keeps unfolding the longer you nose it.

Wow, very different. Not sure entirely how I feel about it. The small nose is vegetal, verging on rotten. The taste follows the nose but brings sweetness and maybe some dried fruit flavours. One to revisit.
