Not too bad either and this one has a very nice nose in the empty glass after a while. There is also a very light roasted note on this one.

Tasting of the 8 Hampden Marks and re-tasting a year later. The tasting is very similar to that of a year ago. A nose dominated by solvents, overripe pineapple and esters. A complex nose, but with less fruit than the other marks. The palate is less aromatic, more alcoholic, with a persistent woody tannin. The higher the esters, the longer the finish. The empty glass gives the same astonishing impression of woodiness and tannins, and is also reminiscent of a Scotch whisky. Not the most balanced or fruity.

Der letzte für mich aus der 8 Marks Collection, diesmal der HGML. Auf jeden Fall überwiegt hier schon der Ester in Nase und Gaumen. Außerdem die obligatorischen tropischen Früchte. Am Gaumen kommen dann noch Lösungsmittel dazu.

Know the chemistry of your Hampden rum! The 8-mark set is very informative and instructive. The pineapple is very dominant in the HGML mark. High ester content! Very pleasing. This rum has an exciting toasty chocolate nuttiness to the usual fruit basket and it's complex in the mouth too.

Édit : le nez n’est pas très démonstratif mais en bouche l’équilibre est bon, avec des fruits et du mordant. Mon préféré jusqu’ici je pense. Dégustation du coffret Hampden 8 marks entre copains ! Un bon lundi ! Notes rapides : ACÉTONE gras beurre banane un peu agressif Fruits exotiques, banane super équilibré et gourmand Petite pâtisserie pour finir ! Un peu excessif mais bien gras, on dirait presque qu’il est vieilli !

Overall, exciting tasting. Some were surprisingly for me extremely tasty and tasty. The ever popular distillery in a different light. Trying the basic product in this form has its appeal. The maturity through storage is then but another house number. My pedestal: HLCF > HGML > C<>H Clear low light: LROK

Big Hampden 8 Marks Collection Tasting HGML unaged: seinem Vorgänger <>H sehr ähnlich; viele tropische Früchte, angenehme Esteraromen, überreif. Erstmalig ist Ananas in Nase und Gaumen wahrzunehmen, zudem etwas vergorenes. Insgesamt deutlich intensiver als der <>H

Der Sechste der 8-Marks-Collection. Nochmal 5 Tage mehr Fermentation als der <>H. Ein gar nicht mal so häufiges Mark, der HGML… Nase: fantastisch viele Ester. Ananas, Essig und dazu leicht Marzipan. Das ist HD-Funk! Dazu wieder frische Zitrusfrüchte, jetzt eher Richtung grüne Limette. Hier ist such wurde das Spülmittel von den Slow-Ester-Marks. Aber viel mehr ist da nicht, das reicht auch. Mehr soll gar nicht 🥰! Gaumen: angenehme und intensive Ester mit Ananas und Banane. Süßholz auch hier, aber etwas mehr in Richtung Karamellisiertem. Ganz hinten ein Hauch Kardamom. Dazu im Abgang fette Nuss. Ähnlich dem <>H. Auch schön!

Here again more classic fruits and above all more citrus. However, the acidity here is definitely a bit too much for me. The mouthfeel is very furry and dry, plus this acidity that pulls everything together. If you (can) ignore this, you get a nice combination of berries and citrus fruits and candied fruits in the finish.

spannendes Tasting. Einige waren für mich überraschenderweise äusserts lecker und schmackhaft. Die allseits beliebte Destilliere in einem anderen Licht. Das Grundprodukt in dieser Form zu versuchen hat seinen Reiz. Die Reife durch die Lagerung ist dann doch eine andere Hausnummer. Ich hab am Schluss alle 8 Marks zusammen geschüttet und 3 Wochen stehen gelassen, ich muss sagen Top. Alle 8 zusammen ergeben echt ein gutes Profil.
