A really good release considering it's unaged. Fruity with nice esters and a lovely roasted note.

Tasted the 8 Hampden marks and re-tasted a year later. The most expressive nose, a little alcoholic but with vegetal and bitter notes. The palate entry is a little bumpy, but quickly becomes delicious. This is the most complex of the series. The very long finish seems to confirm that the higher the esters, the longer the finish. The empty glass has slight hints of woodiness/smokiness, and is also reminiscent of a Scotch whisky. Splendid white rum, my favorite of the series without a doubt.

Kenne die Chemie deines Hampden-Rums! Das 8-Marks-Set ist sehr informativ und lehrreich. Das C<>H Mark besteht hauptsächlich aus Butyrate- und Capr-Estern, also volle Ladung saure Früchte, rote Beeren, Kokos und kandierte Früchte. Auch etwas buttriges oder sahniges findet sich an der Nase. Im Mund süß und kandierte Früchte, wobei ein stets überreifes, vergorenes und buttriges Aroma zurückbleibt.

Overall, exciting tasting. Some were surprisingly for me extremely tasty and tasty. The ever popular distillery in a different light. Trying the basic product in this form has its appeal. The maturity through storage is then but another house number. My pedestal: HLCF > HGML > C<>H Clear low light: LROK

Hampden 8 Marks Collection hier der Diamond. Schon im hohen Estwrbereicj, was man natürlich riechen und schmecken kann. In der Nase zusätzlich noch Klebstoff und etwas Banane. Am Gaumen zusätzlich tropische Früchte, außerdem ölig und überreif.

Danke an DomM Franconian Tasting Gang rocks. Leider fand ich diesen gar nicht so gut. Bin aber mittlerweile ernsthaft am Überlegen, ob ich mir nicht doch noch ein Set zulegen sollte und alle als Mixer zu probieren. Nachdem das Set überall wieder zum günstigen Preis zu haben ist.

The seventh and penultimate of the 8 Marks Collection. Last often had in the glass in matured form and always very very good.Nose: 20 days of fermentation let neat esters pop in the nose. Very close to HGML with lots of pineapple marzipan and lots of vinegar. There is a tart sweetness of maple syrup here. Behind that, though, still a touch of cardamom as well. Palate: delicious! Nice, intense esters. Marzipan and tart pineapple. Dry it is. I don't even have to try to get more out of it. Brilliant.

Mon Cheri with fresh car paint on the nose! Brings everything I expect from a High Ester Hampden. Great oily, almost buttery mouthfeel, in general this ester mark reminds me strongly of buttered and toasted brioche buns or fresh croissants, plus tropical fruit, light roasted aromas and salt, as well as subtle marzipan. Very balanced and delicious!

Big Hampden 8 Marks Collection Tasting C<>H unaged: Ein Ausreißer aus der sich sonst sehr stringent entwickelnden Reihe. In der Nase reiner Alkohol, viel Ester und wenig tropische Früchte. Im Gaumen dann deutlich fruchtiger. Wirkt alles in allem sehr scharfkantig, etwas medizinisch.

Même profil même composition que le HGML mais plus d esters. Un nez également plus fruits et plus de puissance en bouche. C’est un peu limite pour le siroter avec tant d’esters par contre. Kiff kiff !!

spannendes Tasting. Einige waren für mich überraschenderweise äusserts lecker und schmackhaft. Die allseits beliebte Destilliere in einem anderen Licht. Das Grundprodukt in dieser Form zu versuchen hat seinen Reiz. Die Reife durch die Lagerung ist dann doch eine andere Hausnummer. Ich hab am Schluss alle 8 Marks zusammen geschüttet und 3 Wochen stehen gelassen, ich muss sagen Top. Alle 8 zusammen ergeben echt ein gutes Profil.
