A highly technical rhum agricole that clearly has smoky notes comparable to a Mezcal. It offers many cocktail options with bitter or even chocolate bases. For my taste, I'll stick to 1 glass if I have to drink it as a Ti Punch, but it's a real innovation, using ancestral techniques. For once, marketing is at the service of consumer curiosity, and that's worth noting.

26.06.2025 Retasting and still pretty good when looking at the price tag. ----------------- #5092 Saturday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Pale straw. Nose Fresh, sugarcane, light citrus, faint floral, light vegetal, faint smoke, light herbs. Palate Round, fresh, light herbal, light smoke, citrus, light oily, sugarcane, light spicy, medium dry. Finish Medium to long, light sugarcane, faint smoke, citrus, light mineral, light herbs. Empty glass Sugarcane, gerbs, faint floral, light vegetal.

Here we have a solid Agricole. The nose is of course Agricole and citrus fruits as well as vegetal. On the palate, sugar cane also comes to the fore. Mixed with cola, this rum makes an excellent summer drink.

An exciting Trois Rivieres. Naturally, the agricole is predominant. But very distinct notes of sugarcane can also be recognized. On the finish, you can taste herbs. Surely also good to drink as a Cuba Libre.

On the nose vegetable, citrus, burnt sugar, butter, vanilla, and mezcal On the palate it has a unique burnt/carbonized taste that I had never heard before (it is not roasted, toasted or smoked, but really burnt/carbonized, given by the fact that the canes are burnt before harvesting), with peat, vegetables, legumes, umami, mezcal, some citrus and pepper on the finish. A curiosity. Beautiful original bottle, and VERY original juice. The label says "slightly smoky profile," no, it's very very smoky... nice in itself but not for long. Could be interesting in mixology. In tasting, after the surprise, there's no interest.

Interesting Agricole. In the nose the classic Agricole notes (grassy, citrus) with smoky note. Taste-wise, friends of créme brulée will get their money's worth. In the aftertaste, the smoky note remains dominant at first, which is then replaced by the gruesome citrus notes. Exciting variety.

The aroma is fresh and fruity, sugar cane, a little woody. In the mouth comes first the fresh Agricole flavor, then joins also some smoke and wood, very pleasant. The finish is dry and smoky with a good length. A successful Agricole!

super weird! Pear, mirabelle and burnt hay and sawdust on the nose, in the taste then much smokier and baconier than expected. some tobacco and burnt hay, as well as black lemons. in the finish then again pear, heavily toasted Limousin oak, very mineral and lots of nutmeg, pepper and ginger. all in all very dry and could use a little more %. exciting experiment! Quite drinkable but not necessarily mine ...
