T.D.L Plantation Trinidad Tokaj Finish (Sélection Exclusive-Fut) 2009
Cigar smokers and curious tinkerers get the most out of this one: a column-still Trinidad TDL given a Hungarian Tokaj wine-cask finish. Expect dark chocolate, red fruit, licorice and a distinct "machine oil" note several tasters flag. It runs sweeter than most expect and a touch rough, but the chocolate-heavy aftertaste wins people over. Spicy, woody, and a little unusual.
- Dark chocolate aftertaste
- Pairs with cigars
- Red fruit, licorice

How does T.D.L Plantation Trinidad Tokaj Finish (Sélection Exclusive-Fut) 2009 taste?
Aggregated from 17 community reviews.
Chocolatey, sweet TDL with a wine-cask twist A likeable, slightly offbeat TDL — dark chocolate, dried fruit and licorice, sweeter and rougher than expected. The wine finish and oily note divide people, but most land around enjoyable.

Nice, well-integrated oak, a hint of licorice, mint and fresh machine oil. Gentle, velvety but sustained attack, relatively short, slightly peppery finish.
Review by cigares
A fine TDL with homogeneous aromas. A baba au rhum nose with melted wood and a slight hint of machine oil and menthol. The palate is greedy and ample, with many simultaneous aromas. It is fruitier than the nose and slightly peppery. The finish is rather short, with fruit and light machine oil.

Interesting Rum, especially in the aftertaste. Got chocolate notes there, again having such distinctive flavor for the first time. No Alcohol burn, a bit sweeter than what I usually have. Second Tasting after quite a while: more wood, still very likeable.

Nose: Fruity, chocolate, little caramel. Taste: A very easy rum too drink, i tasted brown sugar, some dried fruit, raisins, some different spicies, oak and a light smoke. It is a rum well worth its price tag.

Not what I usually reach for when I think rum but it has its place when I’m enjoying a cigar. Can feel harsher then the rest of the rums in my collection but not in a bad way
Review by Werner10
Not bad but could have been better. Sweeter than expected and a bit rough around the edges.
Review by Thunderbird
This finish can not convince me! The nose is dominated by heavy , fermented grapes, coupled with freshness and sweet spices! On the palate, hardly any fruit is perceived, but a dark sweetness and a lot of spice! The finish is okay, at the very end then comes out some dried fruit!
