Mein erster DOK. Absolut brachial und genau das, was man von so einem Vertreter erwarten würde. Ich mag das sehr und immer mehr zeigt sich, dass ich diese Esterbomben mit relativ geringer kontinentaler Reifung einfach nur geil finde. Klar, sowohl in Mund und Nase erschlägt einen das beinahe und natürlich kenne ich Abfüllungen, die noch etwas komplexer und ausgewogener sind, wie zb den FRC C<>H. Allerdings gibt es hier kaum etwas, was mich wirklich stört. Im Mund ist er sehr ölig und cremig, vollmundig, süß, kräftig und einfach sehr lecker

Mega horny, brutal Hampden! Reminds of the freshness / fruitiness almost to "New Yarmouth". Lots of olive on the palate. How about a dirty martini? 😜

Eine Legende. Ein klar erkennbarer DOK. Erstmal eine überwältigende Nase. Ein Obstkorb dann am Gaumen mit Olive und Salzlake im langen Abgang.

Olive, Marzipan, Fruchtexplosion und viel Säure, bei wenig Fass oder Rauchnote. Alkohol ist ordentlich eingebunden. Leicht cremiges Mundgefühl. Das ist eine sehr gute Abfüllung, aber im direkten Vergleich zum CDI und Wild Parrot ist er schon etwas schlechter. Die anderen beiden sind im direkten Vergleich runder und besser ausbalanciert

I expected a lot from this one but have to admit that I got a bit disappointed. It lacks the taste of the barrel, maturity and especially the complexity that Hampden is known for. The alcohol is very well integrated and it is a fruit bomb with nice acidity, but it's not a fantastic rum. Price does not match the quality.

Many fruit esters, but somewhat straightforward. As the first official DOK on the market, this was revolutionary at the time and has paved the way for various successors of the same Marques - in this respect, this bottling almost surrounds something historic. Taste of course very forced on the fruit, but compared to other bottlings with more years (continental) storage, this bottling unfortunately can not quite keep up. Remains a good rum, a few more years in the barrel are the DOK Marque definitely good to face and create a little more balance.
