Update 150624: Bottle almost empty, the aromas have developed wonderfully, the finish is actually impressively well done and the rum a great complex companion in the evening 👍 more of this! +3 points! ------------------ Artesano specializes in finishes and so we have a nice cask here as well. The associated wine itself is already great. Its aromas are also very well reflected here and nicely bind the rum. The 58 percent don't hide but are fun. It could be a bit more complex but pot still distillation is already being worked on and of course you can't let every rum age 20+ years in the cask. Quite amazing how much you can get out of a good cask.

The barrel influence is a bit too strong for me. The alcohol also feels quite strong. The rum is not as dry as the other Panamanian ones. Great value for money as always.

As a mixer, it's really great! So I corrected it a bit upwards. Another good finish that Sebastian has achieved here. I just find it amazing again what you can get out of the finishes from the rum without really pushing it into the background.

#4873 19.10.2024 relaxing with Fabian in a nice summer house in Blåvand. Nose Fresh, round, light floral, fruits, sweet, light wood, wine. Palate Warm, round, fruits, wine, light cherry, sweet, balanced, light wood, light plum, faint salty, light floral, faint mint. Finish Medium long, round, light wood, sweet, dried fruit, faint floral. Pretty nice and well balanced rum.

And then there were 2x Panama, definitely better than the Panama rum from Mænnerhobby. Truly surprised by the light fruitiness, otherwise it was still quite peppery and slightly salty and woody.

Mmm... Third attempt and unfortunately I have to say, the first Artesano I don’t warm up to. The finish itself is successful, but I don’t like it. Too wild and alcoholic on the palate. The nose works even better, but on the palate too unbalanced and flat. Maybe I got too used to the 20+ bottlings that simply bring this nice softness, which suits Panama rum very well. A pity.

Here you basically only taste the cask finish. But that is surprisingly good. You have to like it, of course, but it works. On the nose still somewhat reserved, on the palate the cask comes with lots of plum. Alongside the markers of the Spanish style. At the back more plum (or similar stone fruit). Although after smelling several times, more and more the cask comes through on the nose. That is, lots of plum and also cherry (?).

That was a surprise. After pouring it the drop was pretty alcoholic, almost medical. After a while it got mich sweeter, fruity and the cask made it’s way through the spirit. Overall a great sipper a fair pricing. Thanks to zabo ;)
