The nose is a little too alcoholic, with pineapple, raisins, vegetal and pastry notes. On the palate, the alcohol attacks strongly, then the other aromas emerge: tropical fruit, menthol, licorice. Short finish, but this rum is only two years old, with a certain buttery sweetness. A rum that lacks complexity and, above all, depth.

Blind was the rum for me an absolute failure. Alcohol poorly integrated, too young, unbalanced, missing notes. Can not really be bottled so.

On the palate, one notices its young age. The alcohol comes across quite biting here. But one recognizes typical Foursquare notes. On the palate then still quite biting. But I would have blindly estimated it significantly older than 2 years. With a few drops of water, the alcoholic note is still there on the nose, but on the palate the bottling becomes more balanced and develops more flavors. But the bottom line is that the release is too alcoholic and unbalanced for me.

8,1:On the nose, a banana bumps into our nosetrils, then varnish, solvents, woody notes with vanilla, caramelized nuts. On aeration, dried fruits like raisins, figs arise, citrus with a lemon, the rum becomes more spicy. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is strong with roasted wood notes like nuts, spicy pepper, later baking spices, a bit smoky, as a molasses is honeyed.The fruits are dried with raisins, figs, there is some banana, citrus with a lemon peel, alcohol is not integrated very well, inspite that is tasty.We notice burnt sugar, perhaps caramelized. 8,2:The finish is dry and a bit smoky, spicy with a pinch of salt, the fruits are dried and citrus..

J’aime beaucoup . On sent un peu l’alcool, mais j’aime quand ça envoie les watts donc ça ne me dérange pas. Joli parfum, très bon en bouche et longueur moyenne à longue. J’aime le finish aussi. Belle corbeille de fruit

Nose: Varnish and chemical notes, banana and nutty notes, vanilla and oak. Mouth: Spicy white pepper, roasted wood and nutty notes. Dried fruits, light sweet molasses, banana and citrus notes, light pleasant burnt sugar and smoke. Residual taste is spicy, light wood and smoke, dried fruits and light dark citrus notes. Very young Foursquare at a crossroads between alcohol and acquiring its typical aromas. However, it is very shy on the nose, oak, dried fruits, nuts and some spices form the main olfactory profile. It shows a fairly present alcoholic touch at first. The attack on the palate is powerful. The alcohol is felt, stinging the palate and biting the tongue. Sharp as a razor blade, the rum only reveals a few dark spicy, woody and empyreumatic notes. It doesn’t reveal much and doesn’t want to show more after airing. The finish is short and uninteresting because it’s just as strong, rough and closed on tasting. A rum difficult to approach on all levels. Assuming the initial idea was to show that a young rum could have character, that’s true, but there is clearly a miscast here, as the rum is aggressive and unbalanced.

No.2 from Habitation Velier, here a quite acceptable Foursquare. The nose is mainly vanilla and caramel, but is also quite alcoholic, smelling slightly of solvents. Strong and warm on the palate, with a hint of honey.

A very young rum, the alcohol strength on the nose is impressive, the taste remains less powerful. Being young, the rum doesn't have much character, it leaves immediately in the finish... not a fantastic output from HV. I received a new sample from a friend, I will taste it again.

The nose is very expressive, it's heavy in aroma ! No tongs, it's direct: vanilla, raisins, tropical fruits, olives ... all sweetened with marzipan! For a 2 years old, it's quite crazy as a nose. In the mouth, it is rum, real, intense. We feel that it is cruelly young, the alcohol is very present. It is mainly woody-chocolate. It is very creamy in the mouth. The finish is moderately long on the woodiness with a little disturbing final astringency. It's young, it's punchy, it's powerful, it's surprising ... it's nice to taste in a lineup.

A lovely Foursquare expression that indexes on cask-driven baking spice. It’s pretty impressive that a 100% pot still rum hews this close to the classic foursquare profile. Adjacent to a good heavyweight ECS release, but with a touch of tropical fruit, and very much turned up to eleven.

Here we have a Foursquare with a poorly integrated alcohol note. The alcohol basically overwhelms everything, with only a hint of fruit coming through. On the palate, you still get the typical Foursquare characteristics. The finish is medium-long, with the alcohol remaining quite dominant.😮💨🤯

A rather young, light rum. Decent rum, but a rather bitter aftertaste. Could be given to the 64% ABV. In the nose I found some fruit and spicyness, and I got notes of tropical fruits, oak and hints of spices

... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum appreciated especially by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and are looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.

Interesting to know how the pure pot still distillate tastes after 2 years, but nothing more. The palate already has a few rough edges (of the sort it does not need) too much for a HV bottling. Or even at all.

Color: Gold Aroma: Alcoholic and fresh with vanilla Fruity - yellow fruits, pineapple Honey. Taste: Honeyed and vanilla in the mouth, oily and creamy. On the swallow alcoholic, spicy and fruity. Finish: Long and spicy. Vanilla, fruit, remains sweet (honey). Warms from deep inside Conclusion: Fruity, honeyed and delicious.

Blind tasting: freshly poured it's initially just alcohol – brutal alcohol without many aromas – detectable on the nose. With some time vanilla and caramel come through and with even more time a bit of glue and oak. You can already tell this is not a rum at drinking strength. On the palate then the harsh sobering: such a young rum that it's hardly suitable for pure enjoyment. This rum is at most 3-4 years old. A slight lemony sweetness (lemon glaze), which is quickly replaced by bitter herbs – all under the cover of alcohol, which probably exceeds 60%. Unfortunately, I'm not a big Foursquare fan and probably some rum friends and connoisseurs would make me scrub the deck for this review, but I can't do much with this potential Foursquare. I hope I can make a good cocktail with the remaining sample ;-). 66 points

Brother Ewww.... what is it. Surprisingly thin on the nose. On the palate like a sugar cane schnapps and in the finish even really strictly alcoholic. It's a bit strange that a cask is bottled so unfinished. Perhaps exciting for friends of unaged rums. For me rather .... nope... not necessarily.
