Blackadder Raw Cask Rum 1999
Sipped neat at almost 70%, it's a menthol-forward monster — bright mint runs from nose to finish, wrapped in charred wood, dried fruit, herbs and a tarry, tannic close. A few drops of water tame the heat and let ripe fruit and honey through. Blind, half the tasters guessed Jamaica or Trinidad, never Saint Lucia. Intense, unusual, and the alcohol sits remarkably well.

Day 24 RumX calendar What an unusual rum! I couldn't place it in any corner! St. Lucia I would never have suspected! Black Adder was almost 100% certain for me due to the charcoal residue in the glass! The flavors are more on the herbal side, but harmonize neatly as the spices provide good contrast! I like the St. Lucia very much

#24th dec RumXCalendar Blind tasting: Nose: minty, oak, barrel, fruity, oak Mouth: Minty, oak, barrel, fruity, oak, vanilla, caramel Finish: long, woody, barrel notes, tar, tannins, dry, astringent very delicious rum 🤤The alcohol is integrated very well Looks like a T.D.L ca.60% max. 20 Years

St. Lucia 99 is simply brilliant! The red fruits, tobacco, vanilla, leather...wonderful! Perhaps the Nobilis No. 17 SLD was still a kleinwenig rounder on the nose, but for this the Blackadder is brutally gripping on the palate, with charred wood, fresh mint and long finish...

This was a huge surprise and the price for this release has gone through the roof. I consider myself lucky to have tried it and I couldn't get a bottle at this tasting. Wound have loved one on my shelf to surprise people. Intense and fruity with some nice floral notes. Warm/spicy on the palate and very good ABV integration. Lightly dry on the palate with a very long finish. If you get a chance you should try it!

Intense and complex - top notch St. Lucia

Rum X Advent 24.12.22 Already very awesome and tasty thing. Special but intense and delicious. Would not have figured it out blind. The nose is wonderfully complex and inviting. In the mouth it is not quite so differentiated. Lots of mint and strong on volume. Whereby these are neatly integrated.

A very charming and attractive rum from Saint Lucia. The nose is very rich and engaging, with many aromas of tropical fruit, dried fruit, floral and menthol notes, herbs, toasted almonds and pastry notes. The whole is homogeneous, exuberant and greedy. On the palate, the attack is powerful, lively and imbued with aromatic herbs, menthol, earthy aromas, spices and spicy notes. Fruit arrives in a second wave, with citrus, exotic and dried fruits. The alcohol, present at a high level, persists despite its undeniable qualities of integration. The finish is very long, carried by warm spices, herbs, roasted notes, tannins, floral and woody notes. An atypical, well-crafted rum, which shows that Saint Lucia has what it takes to play in the court of the great rum terroirs, but which needs quite a bit of time to be tamed and to capture its full expression.

The unpolished profile from St. Lucia in all intensity and aromatic force. Extreme, always demanding and with constantly new facets. Absolutely impressive.

RumXmas 2022, #24, blind: I could be on board with the possibility of this being Jamaican and low ester. But I lack the knowhow for being very exact. That minty note is indeed present on the back of the tongue. Licorice in the finish for me. Now time to let it breathe and enjoy a bit of ice cream. Christmas indigestion is coming… Not that much experience with Saint-Lucia rums of this caliber. What a bomb 💣 Maybe a bit too dry/astringent in the finish for me for the 90 point mark. Tea bitterness in the aftertaste.

Wow! Sehr lecker!

Very unusual rum from St. Lucia. Very floral and perfumed on the nose and palate.

Long Pond).
