Sipped neat, this Martinique agricole gives you grass, honey and vanilla up front with orange, cherry and a light woody edge. Several tasters loved the nose but found the palate falls a bit flat — diluted and a touch too oaky at 43%. A 2004 vintage from the now-closed Dillon still, aged 12 years. Balanced and pleasant, if not the depth some expected.

A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. A slight acidity on the nose sets it apart from the others, pleasantly counterbalanced by a slight sweetness. On the palate, yellow fruit and complexity. The acidity reappears pleasantly on the finish.

A rum suffering from the "pretty decanter syndrome." The nose is promising with beautiful floral, herbal, and tobacco notes joining a slightly sweet fruitiness, mild spices, and a cognac influence. Things go downhill once the rum hits the palate: here we have a rather flat, diluted rum that loses all depth and complexity. A bit of dried fruit, spices, and wood, caramel to smooth the edges, and that's it. The finish, a bit short, tries to save the whole with some floral notes and sugarcane blending with fruits, spices, and slightly toasted notes. A rum below expectations aromatically. Unfortunately, the price went against the trend and shot up to the stars for this too timid batch.

Tasted this rum at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. Also have two unopened bottles of my own. This is one of the last distillates distilled at the Dillon distillery in Fort de Franc where distillation closed down in 2007 to be moved to the Depaz distillery where their stills now is located. The nose is round, dry, spicy, woody, fruity, vegetal and some sweetness with scents of vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, raisins, orange, peaches, cherries, banana, mango, grass, tobacco and some honey. At the palate it’s complex, dry, spicy, woody, sweet, fruity and vegetal with flavors of vanilla, pepper, honey, sugarcane, grapes, dates, orange and grass. The finish is rather long.

Rum tasted in sample twice. This agricole is very well balanced. Quite a bit of fruitiness that makes me think of grape and pomegranate, woody that brings a vanilla touch. Even if the alcohol is not very high, the intensity is sufficient. Nice finish.

Whisky Live Paris 2025 - to be tasted again to confirm the score and notes. The carafe and premium positioning and price asked are maybe too much for this rum. Yet this is a nice agricole, the reduction do not solve a few issues in terms of astringency and overoakiness that reduce a lot my score.

I really love the design of this decanter which matches the content pretty well. Price to quality is very good in my mind and I have ordered a bottle. The nose is fruity with grass, honey, vanilla trailed by tobacco and floral notes. The palate is complex and lightly dry with fruit and wood trailed by honey, grass, vanilla and floral notes. The finish is long and lightly dry with fruit, wood and floral notes.

A nose superior to the palate which is a bit disappointing due to a too strong reduction side, where the rum loses its aromatic persistence. Still, an excellent AOC rum with beautiful richness and aromatic intensity.
