J. Bally Brut de fût 2007
Sip it neat — this is a cask-strength aged agricole built for a tasting glass, not cola. The nose leans on dry cedar, vanilla and nutmeg, with sour cherry and blackcurrant giving it fruit. On the palate it's peppery and woody but stays round, and at 50.6% the alcohol sits well. A few tasters find the oak a touch dominant; most call it balanced and easy to keep pouring.

Woody, spicy aged agricole for neat sipping Well-liked aged Bally: woody, spicy and peppery with cassis and cherry fruit. Most find the oak nicely balanced, though a couple say the wood or bitterness runs a little heavy.

The combination of cassis, blackberry, camomile tea and vanilla pulp and a little cocoa is crazy and really delicious! I really like it! Not quite as complex as the 2006, but a tad more drinkable and accessible!

Nice bottle but a bit too much bitterness for my taste.
Review by Leo Krüper
Super, round Agricole with all-encompassing sweetness. Still quite subtle on the nose. Then more and more powerful on the finish. One of the strongest in the series for me.
Review by Giorgio Garotti
A very intense brut de fut! Very nice dark notes of wood and leather that are never invasive! Very present scents of berries and lots of herbs that balance the whole drink well! Definitely an excellent Bally!

#4032 This is a really nice glass as well and the price tag is more than justified in my mind. Fruity with nice spicy profile and pretty well balanced ABV and wood. Fresh ans lightly oily in the palate. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and I can pick up some chocolate and herbal notes in the empty glass.

I'll continue to feel my way towards Agricole. The Bally's are there for me the ideal representatives. So here is an unadulterated 11yo.Nose: nicely concentrated fruity-woody-spicy. Aromatic dry cedar and some nutmeg with cocoa powder and vanilla. Slightly tart blackcurrant with sour cherry and apple give the fruitiness. I also find it slightly vinegar, which makes me think of a red wine. Out the back it seems slightly herbal with some tobacco, chamomile and licorice. Very pleasant. 85Palate: strong woody-spicy without being unpleasant. A bit salty at first with nutmeg and a hint of clove, maybe some vanilla and mint. Then blackcurrant and blackberry also come through, slightly acidic. Fresh green boughs at the back with chamomile tea and grassy sugar cane. 83Beautiful, spicy and round Agricole. I'm beginning to suspect what draws people to this....

This Brut de fut is already very good. On the nose mainly wood, also a very spicy smell. Some vanilla is also there. On the palate also woody and spicy (pepper and nutmeg) as well as some vanilla.
Review by Émile Shevek
On the nose it is fresh and inviting with leather/toasting, wood, dried fruit (apricots), spices, light chocolate, underripe red fruits, citrus, tobacco at the finish. On the palate it is creamy and maintains the same aromas with a predominance of fruits and an added sweet and salty note. The finish remains fresh and almost mentholated with mixed vegetables (herbs/hay/chamomile), but short and shallow. The nose is superior to the palate in this case. 8.7+

As often with these old Bally cask strength rums, wood dominates. Here it is accompanied by vanilla, a touch of apple. On the palate, it's very spicy. Still woody. Vanilla, nutmeg. But not the fruit that some find. Good, but very far from the 2004.
Review by Jarek
Ahh, reminds me of the Brut de Fut 2004, but without being too woody. Enough power and at the same time mild. I like it a lot.
Review by raphael galak
Solvent on the nose Which transforms into vanilla anise with a hint of walnut and nectarine A palate with powerful yet delicate woodiness, present at the beginning and end of the mouth. In the middle, a compote of peach, apricot, fig, and almond, which ties to a good freshness. Finish quite long in a somewhat astringent woodiness but still gourmand.

An aromatic bomb on the nose and palate. Rare to find this fruity blackcurrant note, but it's very interesting. Perfect balance, perfect length. Top-notch

Tasted at the WLP counter, nice product, strength and structure, my taste.
Review by Nico Köppe
A super harmonious Bally, it literally sips away. The wood on the palate is nicely balanced, the alcohol is deliciously integrated and we really liked the herbal-spicy character. Delicious!

No, the best Bally, wood a bit too overpowering

It has something but well below the legendary Bally BDF 1999 1998.
