#5138 21.02.2025 Battle of the white evening. Nose Fresh, medium intense, sugarcane, light citrus, light vegetal, light nutts light mineral. Palate Oily, fresh, round, medium intense, light citrus, light spice, light grass, light nutts, faint pineapple, sugarcane. Finish Medium to long, oily, light grass, nutts, light citrus, sugarcane. Empty glass Sugarcane, spice, light herbal, faint floral, light citrus. Needs to rest for a good while for the ABV to settle properly and all the flavours to be released.

La Route des Rhums Advent Calendar 2023 No. 21. Here now a white Agricole from Damoiseau. Typically Agricole, it has a fruity, floral and fresh nose. On the palate also, but I find the 69% a bit too much, it comes across too alcoholic.

Definitely Damoiseau and I are not friends... The only Damoiseau bottle in my large collection, I was tempted by the "kind of raw column" style, but the result is not there. Xperience 69, to keep for erotic games? Not really... + Seriously, way too alcoholic from the start on the nose, you have to let it oxygenate well for 5-10 minutes to become more attractive. Tasted on my bottle then, after nearly a year, blind in Advent 2023: meh... The nose is quite absent except for enols. The palate redeems itself with good sweetness and a slightly oily texture. It warms up nicely, but the final bitterness is less pleasant. These drawbacks are less present in a glass rested for a long time.. Red fruits can be found but too discreet to compensate.

Je n'ai pas eu de relant alcoolique comme les autres personnes en commentaire alors que la bouteille était remplie au 9/10 facilement. Au nez ,frais et herbacé Bouche herbacé . Finale herbacé Verre vide: / Qualité-prix n'y est pas pour 80-90euros pour 0,7 L

The nose is pleasant. On the palate, it’s fresh, powerful, and peppery. It hits hard with a finish matching the palate. A rum not to be put in just anyone’s hands.

To be honest I am not a big fan of these white unaged rums, but…. Aroma is one big fresh, floral, grassy bomb with lot of cherry (or some other sour fruit). Aroma itself would be great, unfortunately, the overall impression is spoiled by the strong smell of alcohol. Taste is sweet (sugarcane?), I again noticed sour fruit but there is strong, but at the same time, very gentle bitterness of pomelo fruit, grass and floral notes. Finish i quite long, warm with sour and alcohol flavors. High ABV white rums aren't all that appealing, at least for me. In this case, I would enjoy this rum much more in some summer drink. Not a big fan.
