A rum from the Swiss bottler Origin R. A nose of pastries, marzipan and gingerbread. Very Jamaican and yet slightly atypical. A palate where the wood is very present but not too much as it leaves room for the fruits. A finish that reveals the alcohol, but also a floral and vegetal side. A beautiful rum from Clarendon.

Coherent overall combo. Much milder than the Guildive. Similar flavor markers. Cheese but milder, tropical fruits, plantains, cinnamon, cardamom, vegetal/vegetable, slight dairy. But also sharpness and soapy notes, which spoil the picture.

The 2007 Clarendon positively surprised me. Nice wood note, spices. Tropical fruits. The alcohol was also well integrated. Only the slightly soapy note in the finish bothered me a bit.

Complex, powerful nose with a slight nail polish scent. On the palate, long and airy with a slight salinity. Very long.

Like any drink over 50°, be careful to let your glass breathe... I expected a pure Jamaican juice... What a mistake... The markers are there but hidden by a beautiful floral woody presence and a hint of well-done smoke... You could spend hours smelling this nectar. The mouth is powerful, peppery and floral with a presence of esters... The finish is long and there... You find Jamaica again, ester, herbs and a slight astringency... What a pleasure...
