This is a rum to share with a bourbon friend… heavily aged for Agricola but not over oaked. Very barrel forward though. A faint floral and vegetal from the Agricola is delicious.

Poured for a bottle that's been opened for ~6 months. Mostly full. Quite woody for being a few months over 5 years old matured in American oak. Some but not much of the distillate showing through. Finish is short and drying. Overall, it is a nice and simplistic Rhum, perfect for converting Whiskey drinkers.

For the price I was really impressed. It has a pretty strong taste for 43%. Lots of burnt bourbon flavors overpower the typical agricole flavors. I actually get next to none of the usual sugar cane flavors. It’s a really good rum for the price if you like whiskey.
